How long would it take to grind for the Pale Order ring?

I want to get the Ring of the Pale Order. But I have done literally nothing in regards to scrying, excavation, and antiquities. In fact, I only just bought Greymoor today.

How long would it take me to grind for the Pale Order ring? Do I need to level scrying and excavation all the way up in order to get Mythic items? If so, how long would grinding those skills take?

I think you could do it in a very long day with some decent RNG. I did antiquities to level 10 on patch day, or maybe the day after (took 10-12 hours if memory serves), but you really only need to get to 7. Once at 7, you are able to get most mythics within 2-3 hours each.

RotPO has two painful grinds and three that are fairly routine. One is a mob grind in a Public Dungeon, people have reported it taking 6 hours plus (took me about an hour). There is also a chest grind if memory serves, which is a royal pain in the you know what. The drop rate is not bad, and guessing there arent nearly as many people running around the zone as there were a few weeks ago. But on patch week, finding any chest was pretty rare.

is it nessery to max scrying, no..they are level 4 out of 5, however it is recomendto make it easier
as for farming...well...if you're willing to go ham, 2 days
1 day to max scrying and excation
1 day to farm and dig up leads

but going ham is..boring af, it means spending literally an entire day running around arteum [or that secret mages guild island] digging up the same two antiquties over and over and over...as is farming the leads for the ring..with the worst offender being in badmans hollow.

Results definitely vary. I think it took me 2 total hours to grind out the leads for the Pale Order ring. With the Wrothgar WB and Coldrock Delve boss taking about an hour between the two.

But I've seen other's who have farmed Bad Man's Hollow for days and never got a drop. I got really lucky and got it within 3 loops of the dungeon. And there is a really solid chest farm route in Bangkori that makes the chances of getting a lead go up due to the number of chests you can find.

Fair point about not needing it, but the passives do make it easier. That said, scrying/excavation is a fairly brain dead activity either way and the extra time to grind to 10 wont be faster, even if you factor in having to make a few attempts to scry and excavate the mythic leads. Dont worry about screwing up the scrying or excavation too much, its not like you lose the lead if you fail. I would personally not grind it straight to 10 if I had to do it again. Once at 7, you can get gold leads and they level you to 10 pretty fast as you hunt down more mythic items. The best mythic IMO is still the Ring of the Hunt from a convenience standpoint.

Have a bunch of skill points ready. Get the skill lines from Solitude, grind Artaeum (or some other small zone) green & blue treasure until scrying lv 5:. Visit each zone and scry & dig up the zone green, blue and (one per accout per zone) purple treasure. When scrying 7, start grinding leads. Bad Mans Hollow lead (from trash like skeevers if i remember right) can be annoying.
It's not that long grind but better spread it a bit instead of trying to do it in one or two sittings. Take frequent breaks and do other things too.

You only need to get to Rank 7 in the Antiquities skill lines. The most natural way to do that is to follow the green-blue-purple sequence of automatically-unlocked leads in a large number of zones. How fast that is per zone depends on whether you have wayshrines, whether you have a stealthy character, and so on -- and also, of course, on how fast your loading screens generally are at the time.

Bad news: It's a bunch of hours.

Good news: You make 250K+ gold along the way.

To level up to 7 on both around 2-3 hours. Here's a nice guide http://lovelynorth.com/antiquities/ . For the ring itself...with decent RNG, 2-4 hours. Many have struggled with their luck in bad man hollows for the lead so it could be from upwards to 6-10. For me it was around 4 hours total from level 7, give or take. Good luck, OP!

About 2 hours for me (considering I had max scrying already). The largest % of that time was in Bad Man's Hollow.

Took me 3h to make it on release day, Bad Man lead being the longest. Like with Sticker Book farming, if you want public dungeon to be relatively empty you have to try at morning hours outside weekends. Peak hours are off the bat, everybody will camp at every possible spawn.

    Pretty much this.

However, Grind the green and blue leads, rinse, and repeated each, until you can do purple leads. Then go to each zone and do the green to get the blue to get the purple until you can do gold leads. You can also use treasure maps for any base game zone to get other leads as needed until you can do gold level. The treasure map leads can range from green to purple, iirc.

After that start on the leads specific to the ring.

if you focus you can get to where you can do the gold leads in half a day's time, such as in several hours. It all depends on how much you focus.

For me the Bad Man's lead was the most time consuming, 10+ hours. Other leads were all fairly quick.

Bad Man's Hollows was the worst... but Nighthollow wasn't fun either, since people kept grabbing the damn lead instead of waiting their turn. Great idea to have it despawn...

Thank you everyone for your answers about this! I managed to get Scrying to 7 today. It wasn’t particularly painful to be honest. It was a bit of a grind and did take several hours, but I did most of it in Artaeum which helped a lot, and the fact that it is attached to new mini games and gets you tons of gold made it not feel particularly bad IMO. Grinding Psijic Order and Mage’s Guild are way worse IMO (still have never fully grinded either since they’re so boring).

That said, I haven’t done the Pale Order grind yet. Sounds like that part is very RNG dependent so it could possibly be quite painful. But, the very least, grinding the skill line actually wasn’t bad at all IMO.

It’s been said 100 times but here’s 101... just over 2 hours for the bad man hollows part... just awful, awful stupid. There were 3 or 4 others in there at the same time just waiting on mobs to respawn. RNG is one thing, but this is just felt like being punished for playing the game.

It took me two and a half weeks, playing over an hour each day, to get the lead from the public dungeon in Glenumbra.
My husband got it in under 20 minutes.

And that was just one lead.

from scratch... it will prob take like 12hrs depending on RNG. takes like 6 hours or so to et antiquities leveled then another 6 hours or so to get the ring if RNG is horrible. took me 4hrs alone to get one lead in dead mans hollow.

I did exactly this. Took me like 14 hours or some such nonsense.

Many people telling you it's all rng are not talking about the leveling part just the leads farming. Leveling is the real time suck and it's like 14 hours. I did the leads at the same time. You need to get scrying up to 7 and excavation about the same.
