Hi all
My thoughts after the trailer we get a deadra or dremora race with a new class (battlemage) in 2021

Skilline could be spellbook....


And on the website they said learn more about the new worlds. Systems and challenges on January 21... So spellcrafting could be the system they announced 🤞

Hopefully is the chapter more pvp focused than the other years....

PS major brittle can be a unique class buff 😉

    Can someone please explain what s the obsession with spellcrafting?

    Surely it would unbalance the game badly as stam characters can’t do the same?

    Pretty sure we won't see spellcraft in any form until game is went through their "vision" passes which just started, also they already said no new class as far as i remember. Race of dremora makes zero sense also so wouldn't hold my breath for any of it.

    Pvp focus is another one, it can't be a focus now when the milking machine model is going, it's just not bringing as much money, but some updates surely may come as always.

    I've given up hope for Spellcrafting tbh.
    At this point I'd be happy with a new difficulty setting for overland content, or a new weapon skill line.

    Anything but a new class tbh. Something I can do with my existing characters, please.

    Spellcrafting could include stam abilities or buffs

    It would only unbalance the game depending on implementation. For something to feel like spellcrafting, they just have to let you "craft" the spell by finding ingredients and using a recipe, and customizing the end result at least somewhat. Doesn't have to be fully customized

    In the teaser article, they said:
    the Gates of Oblivion’s new worlds, challenges, systems, and adventures—all coming in 2021!

    So we'll get some kind of system. Doesn't SOUND like a class, but a "system" could include anything from antiquities to set collections to skill lines to CP replacement to spellcrafting. So who knoweth

    Didn't they say spellcrafting is of the table in an interview not so long ago?
    And tbh even if they would implement it, it would be buggy as hell, so no thanks.

    New system might be tied to oblivion gates and the stones we used to collect after closing them in Oblivion.
    Wouldn't be surprised.
    I don't think we will see both a new race and a new class.

    One thing that would be cool, is if we could do the reverse of Oblivion, as in we collect a stone and open our own gate to reap rewards.

    Nope they never said that all they ever said is new skill lines,systems or a class with each chapter. People only asumed the classes would be released every 2 years after necro released 2 years after warden but zos never said every 2 year so yeah a false rumor that spread like wildfire

    They've already said new CP reworked system will be announced next year so thats what your getting probably in Q1 2021

    I doubt we'll ever get another new race and I doubt even less it would be a dremora/daedra as that would make zero sense in the context of pretty much the entire story line, especially base game main story.

    Spellcrafting doesn't work in a MMO. Simple as that. Hard to balance, freedom of actually crafting your own spell would be really limited because lets be real here, ZOS doesn't want to make like 55 new animations or effects, and if they go the lazy route and copy paste old animations and effect, well then they are not unique and feel like the skills we already have.

    The reason why spellcrafting was good in Oblivion and Morrowind was bcs you could literally just create this *** OP spell, guess what you cant make that same for MMO. Simple as that.

    The last thing the game needs is a new class IMO. Additional magicka weapon would be nice with different skills.

    I agree with most above about why spell crafting wouldn't work but additional skill augmentation or specialization through gear or weapon choice would be cool. That exists to a certain extent already but could continue to be focused.

    Spellcrafting isn't inherently any different than gear crafting.
    Of course a multiplayer game affords less freedom than a single player, but that's true with all systems.

    New class; please no, definately no. The game needs everything but another pay to win class that fits right in with Warden and Necromancer who have been stupid OP without any adjustments yet, while the 4 base classes remain to rot. They should focus on bringing the 4 base classes up to date or maybe even expand on all classes rather than another new class.

    But new systems has my attention. New systems are always pleasant. :)

    New race would be nice honestly or even variations of races. We got plenty we could use. There's also races in lore we could use like Imga.

    For a new class, eh, I rather have them work on the current classes. Spellcrafting wise, instead of spell crafting give us the ability to change classes. It would make sense from a lore perspective. In the single player games you could know as many spells as you like, you could change your class from bard to battlemage without rerolling a character. CP changes would be nice due to the amount of CP I have sitting around.

    As for the battlemage. Technically any build can be considered a battlemage already. Dragonknight: A battlemage that uses fire magic. Warden: Battlemage that uses frost magic or nature magic. So on like that.

    They're probably going to make Oblivion gates a new mechanic but honestly I'd rather have no mechanic. They did it with Morrowind, they could do it again.

    The new system will most likely be the reworked CP system, not another poorly written, unbalanced skill line to make the game even worse.

    Spellcrafting definitely isn’t coming, personally I just want another mag weapon choice and magcro buffs. A new race would also be nice but overall a new mag weapon line seeing how stam has 4 :) And if they do bring a new race it’s highly unlikely that it will be a dremora lol. If anything give us the maormer and make them neutral in the 3 banners war like imperials or give us one of the many variations of beastfolk.

    Yep, ESO product structure is very predictible.... what we gonna get?

    - P2W pvp gear - u need some way, to bring people from Cyro to buy new expansion. Sure, u dont have to buy, and u will be smoked by some OP staff/sword.

    -skins titles, dyes - for the collectionists

    - new grind system with unique items, u would be able to see ur friends using them, so u u will be tempted to buy it

    - collectors editios, for the preorders maniacs!

    - superior race (in terms of magica or stamina), for the new META.

    - rebulding the old system, so even vet players, will need to sunk again in the game, and waste time, just be in touch with changes. U dont wanna spend time? U will be forced.

    The devs can't even balance proc sets. How will spell crafting be balanced, especially when running alongside proc sets and mythics? The servers will have calculations for unique spells (unless it's a fixed receipe-type system), calculations for proc sets, calculations for mythics, light attacks, heavy attacks, etc., etc.

    I don't say that to knock the devs--I just think this proc meta was an example of biting off more than you can chew.

    I don’t get it either and also it feels a bit late in the game’s lifecycle to be adding such a major system, I’d rather just move onto another game at this point instead of redesigning my play style for this game.
