And here I am, with 8/10 slots on my bar being class skills. Am I doing something wrong? I've been extremely successful on magplar this patch when everyone else tells me I shouldn't be. I guess when you can only think of one way to play a class, and that playstyle is sub-par, the class as a whole seems to be as well. I mean it makes sense when every single templar you see is using the same setups over and over, are you just expecting that to be the best way to play the class because everyone else is doing it? I did for a while.

when i played templar, i was in awe of how many class damage skills i could slot. i just wish warden had that many class damage skill options, would trade minor berserk and piercing cold's magic damage for one more good damage skill, with some frost damage animal companions skills to back it up.

It's hard to gauge, how your experience relates to other people's.
I can go on mag/Stam plar and roflstomp faceroll weaker/bad players, just like i could with any class, really.
That doesn't make Templar a good class.
You really need to compare Templar skills to necro/warden to see why the class isn't in a good spot.
It's hard to compare to sorc or nightblade since those are mobility based classes, unlike Templar.

When it comes to warden, It depends on what you mean by our skills. When it comes to damage skills, they are few and far between. I'd prefer to have an actually good spammable and a single target ultimate that doesn't need to be double slotted. I'd rather have an actual offensive stun skill than a winter's embrace heal that beats any of my green balance skills. What really propels warden (in pve) is having one good damage skill in scorch+morphs and it's insultingly abundant raw damage buffs instead of it having damage skill quantity and quality, what propels it in pvp, is the same as with pve but with the addition of the existance of arctic blast's health scaling heal.

However, when it comes to healing and tanking. I understand.

Its an anecdotal argument. Sure you can curb stomp all the best players but lets delve in and rationalize why. What templar specific skills/passives/setups are the cause of this success? Rationalize why a templar is in the top 3.

I'm role-playing a holy light paladin so 12/12 of my skills are class skills, I find them aesthetically most pleasing. I only slot Regen when I heal and Pierce Armor when I tank.

Having said, most templar skills do awful damage and almost all passives suck and need to be reworked. Sweeps keep the class nerfed to oblivion.

Templars are subpar dps and awful tanks because they were meant to be the healer class. Healplars can basically heal with only class skills, they don't really need other skills. Fence they aren't great at other roles.

If people stopped trying to force every class to be bis at every role, they'd feel less dissatisfaction.
