Are PVP healers still needed in groups?

So, I was leveling a warden healer for PvP and then I took a couple weeks off of game. I came back recently and noticed the change in healing during PvP. I’m just curious if groups are still actively seeking healers or if it’s difficult to find a group as one?

Healers are needed in group now more than ever because you can't just depend on picking up random heals from other people in the area anymore.

I've had the opposite experience in BGs. Maybe in a premade a dedicated healer could work but I still think crosshealing DPS might be preferable. Certainly in solos I feel like a dedicated healer is a detriment.

I know you're on NA so maybe it's just a meta difference. But on EU people build super tanky and having a dedicated healer just means fights lasting even longer. This might be okay if deathmatch comes up but in objective game modes it just leads to dragging out fights on objectives while the 3rd team who isn't involved in your fights just captures objectives with no contest. That's been my experience when I play my healblade, anyway. And I say this as someone who is usually a healer in MMOs. If I'm gonna heal, I think I'd rather play a Warden or pet Sorc who can cross heal a bit.

StamWardens who can heal whilst running backwards after charging with SubAssault are still absolutely critical. Typically, the quality of a group larger than 4 players is mainly decided by the abilities of the Bombblades first, and StamWardens second. The StamWardens are the ones who can and must safe the group from a countercharge.

It is indeed quite hillarious to see inexperienced groups where the StamWardens continue whirlwinding into the void whilst the group behind them straggles and struggles, instead of turning around and healing them. After 3+ years, one could expect that people have at least learned the basics of their class.

That being said, I think the time of pure healers in Cyro is over, as mass spamming regeneration seems to be the meta.

DDK is the Daggerfall Covenant´s last line of defense on the 30 days no-cp campaign (EU). We intend to fight epic battles in small, casual player friendly raid groups.

Cross healing from offense-oriented builds is hampered for most classes because virtually everyone is wearing proc sets, and therefore has lower spell damage, max magicka, and possibly sustain. My off healing on Magicka Necromancer was never particularly good, but it's certainly a lot worse than it was a few patches ago.

It's hard to say really. I stopped playing my dedicated healer in pvp cyro. I think with smaller groups some self heals and good damage skills are more important. And loads of health on your char stats.

You'll see the meta shift if people are clever. No, healers just have to build more utilitarian.

    Agree.

& to add to that observation of "mass spamming regeneration", heals scaling up from Spell/Weapon damage, healing vs damage proc sets, & healing vs ball group damage.

I think it depends on what kind of pvp you want to do. In an organized group of 6 to 12 people that want to take keeps and play the map, healers can make a huge difference esp with proc sets and the crazy siege that goes on in the campaign I play. Getting into keeps if you are outnumbered, combined with siege, it takes some patience. Guilds on the other factions are running 3 groups of 12.

You can be fighting in a field, and the other faction will siege you, you LOS, and they just follow you with the siege, and many of the players know where you are going to LOS and have siege waiting for you.

If you try to small scale on a resource, the other faction comes with 30 and they also siege you lol. I know several organized larger groups that are always looking for healers.
