Stadia Account Changing?

So I have done some searching, watching videos, even posting on Reddit for the answer, and without an honest 100% answer, I decided to start this thread to not only get the answer but to help anybody in the future that has this problem so they, hopefully, don't have to sit through days of waiting on support to resolve the issue! (It's excruciating, believe me.)

So why can we not manually change our linked accounts on Stadia?
So a little background. I bought the Greymoor CE because of the sale, and when I open it up to play, I realize I bought it on my other Stadia account. (Which was fine, I got an extra 10 dollars off on my purchase.) I figured I'd have to change my linked account because of this, so I thought nothing of it. I went to the website, unlinked the account, and linked my new one... Error. It wouldn't let me link my new account! So, I went to Reddit, searched this forum, did some googling, and all I found was an official statement saying "If you linked a Stadia account and The Elder Scrolls Online account incorrectly, please contact Customer Support for further assistance. Well, I thought I'd contact Zenimax so I could finally play the game. Fast forward 36 hours later, and I got a response to another ticket that I filed after I filed for my linked account problem? So I assume something's up with the queue. Regardless, I still never figured out why we can't unlink and link different accounts ourselves.

That was my backstory, if you are having a similar experience, updates and resolution are below.

    Update Number 1:

    I have received contact with support on my ticket. The problem still hasn't been fixed, but they've had me do troubleshooting on my end, to no avail. I tried clearing my cache, as suggested. The other suggestion was to go to https://account.elderscrollsonline.com/account/linked_accounts and click "LINK STADIA ACCOUNT"

    Update Number 2:

    To unlink a Stadia account,
    All progress on the linked game account will be halted
    Crowns, virtual currency, and/or any purchases made on that account will not be refundable or transferable
    Inability to transfer game progress or content to another account

    So I assume from this that transferring my account will not be happening, which is a bummer. Again, I'll update the thread whenever I get an update, I've been waiting for an hour for the next response.
    Edit: I've been waiting for 2 hours now... I was getting rapid-fire responses, now it's the waiting game again.

    If it wasn't noticeable, I'm quite fed up with the waiting. I think the best option for me now is to just transfer my items to a new account and start over. The biggest loss will be the Dragon Warrior costume, but I guess if I can't get this cleared up by the end of the day, I'll just close my ticket and give up on it. I didn't think this would cause such a hassle, I figured there would be an easy fix to this problem. If it was possible to give me a CE reward code for this, it would be the best outcome, no big changes necessary. I could even give the support team proof of purchase for it so I can receive it. I feel that unlinking and linking another account should be something anyone could do, without the long wait. I never got the answer to why we couldn't do it. I've gotten nothing concrete from my ticket responses. It's becoming an annoyance, and that is all I have to say on the matter.

    I'll ping @ZOS_BillE in this, maybe there's some other option I could take?

    Hey there, @WolvedOut.

    Just a couple of items to clarify for you ... in case it wasn't explained by Support.

    1. The Stadia Pro free 1 month and $10 off first game purchase promo is for new Stadia accounts only. If Stadia players were able to create as many new accounts as they wanted (and move all of those $10 off games to their main Stadia account), that would defeat the purpose of the promotion. Google would also lose money in the process.

    2. ZOS doesn't do platform transfers of any kind. That includes characters, crowns, cosmetics, and so on. It's mainly due to the database limitations of character names ... but there are other internal reasons for not doing it as well.     @Taleof2Cities That was wasn't made clear to me by support. I wasn't trying to do a platform transfer, but rather changing the linked account, like switching PCs. I didn't realize that it would have been a hassle. As for the Stadia Pro, I was aware of that, I wasn't trying to move my discounted game over to my old account, but rather move my progress over, per se. I moved forward with my dispute with Google, and I was able to get a refund from Stadia. It took a while, but I got the money. I closed my ticket with support, and I guess this thread will be closed too.

    On the bright side, my problem has been resolved, and yet there is no honest good way to switch accounts in case a mistake was made like this, so in that event, I guess sitting through tickets may be the only route to go.

    Lastly, I want to thank Joel, Chris, and Thomas from Support for their help throughout this process, even though the troubleshooting techniques didn't help.
