If all I am doing is crafting and using a banker assistant, then Alinor. For general all around Rawkla gets the nod. I know Vivec can be a quicker route if you dont have a Banker, but the log in lag is not worth it.

Why banker for Rawl? bank is 10 meter from the hand in point? One issue for me is that lazy writ mod tend to pop messages stopping me from open the door :) Granted has ESO+

Yes Vivec might be a bit faster the consumable writ pickup is a bit off the track but can probably do dailies in Rawl without an monitor

I will say though, The Great Tree is a close 2nd for me.

    Originally, Vivec City.

    Later, Daggerfall.

Currently, Vivec City again, for doing the daily crafting writs on multiple characters.

After I got a little bored with Vivec City, I decided to park my characters in different cities depending on their race, alliance, or whichever zone they were doing quests in-- Vulkhel Guard, Daggerfall, Windhelm, Rimmen, Alinor, Wayrest, Davon's Watch, etc. And it was kind of fun to do crafting writs in different cities and get better acquainted with their layouts.

But some of the cities aren't layed out very nicely for doing crafting writs-- the places are spread out rather inconveniently-- so eventually, when doing the writs as quickly as possible became more of a priority, I moved everyone back to Vivec City.

Still, now that crafting dosn't take as long as it usedto, thanks to the changes in Update 28, I might move everyone back to a variety of cities again.

Yeah, I keep thinking about that. But.... I have an "inconvenient" I suppose memory that works in a seriously rigid pattern in a given situation (like crafting), as optimal. In fact I had a discussion about that with a friend who used to post here (and is a regular on my own game forum) - he's a lot more flexible than I am, since he can play several games without the angst that I get when I go there - I have a VERY hard time switching up from ESO to some other MMO, or even back to Skyrim. I seriously have a problem playing more than one game at a time. [It's probably because I'm old. I bought my first computer in 1984, and played my first CRPG in 1985 - and that wasn't even why I bought the machine - I bought it because I needed to write - and save my files somewhere besides paper. You don't EVEN want to know the garbage I had to deal with to get husband to agree....]

My muscle memory is.... ancient. It's been in existence since 1985 - and depends on the ability to keybind attacks etc. to a given subset of keys.

And therein lies the problem with the combat system in ESO for me. It's anything but optimal, and it's not fun. I CAN kill mobs, but it's just not - fun.

I used almost the entire G15 keyboard for combat in WoW and RIFT. I can't reliably bar swap in ESO, so that means I have 5 skills plus light attacks.....

If I still had any interest in WoW and RIFT, I wouldn't be here now. But that ship has sailed. Since 2016....

I do all my writs, crafting, outfitting, selling, fencing and banking in Rawl'kha. It's very convenient with everything so close together. It's been my go to town for a long time.

I don't log out there, though. All my characters log out in their own personal houses.

Honestly I choose almost entirely for role-play purposes.

My crafter lives in Alinor because he wanted to retire somewhere quiet, the fact that it has a convenient crafting area is a nice coincidence but he was in Vulkhel Guard before which wasn't ideal, so he'd be in Alinor either way.

Two of my main characters use Evermore because they share Mournoth Keep as their home and it's the nearest city (although one of them goes back to Daggerfall frequently too) and the third lives in Humblemud so she mainly uses the village in Bal Foyen.

The others don't really have a fixed base of operations and use whichever city is nearest, or most convenient to get to at the time. One of them never stays in the same place for too long as people tend to get a little...upset if he sticks around. Something about the murders I think.

I prefer Alinor for 2 reasons: first, it has rather convenient crafting area (with new quest only option I can simply run in a circle from station to station); second (but at least equally important) it is the most beautiful location. I don't need bank, but even when I do, it is on the way to wayshrine (as I am doing delve dailies too).

Mainly Vulkhel Guard and Daggerfall. Good crafting and mount training facilities, banking, outlaws' refuge and stealing opportunities along with some very close treasure chests in the case of Daggerfall. I don't do pledges but occasionally I do the odd writ in which case Vulkhel Guard is fine for hand-ins. I also have housing in both locations.

Mournhold, because writ and master writ dropoffs, respec shrines, Undaunted, all crafting stations, (usually) good guild traders and bank all nearby. Grahtwood is annoying because you have to go into the tree, and Stormhaven is annoying because of the distance to everything.

I would love to use Vivec or Alinor since expansion zones look better but i'm stuck in Mournhold because that's where the Undaunted enclave is and i don't want to travel everytime i decide to do a pledge. Why they don't add enclaves to expansion cities i don't understand at all. At least i have a banker...
