Ancestral Reach still not working as described

@ZOS_GinaBruno It would be really helpful if we could know if it is intended to just be from treasure maps or if it is from bonus loot that we are meant to get through antiquities. Description suggests the latter, but currently only Western Skyrim and Greymoor Caverns seem to be dropping. The prices for both sets of maps are hugely inflated and are gold dust. In two hours of trader farming, I found 5, two of which were more than 50k. The pages themselves are ridiculously expensive (I had a listing for bows sell at 250k almost immediately) and it’s pretty insane given how it’s just a HD remake of an old motif.

Could we please get confirmation of whether this is how it is meant to be or whether the system is broken at the very least.

If the motif isn't the cat's meow in terms of aesthetics, why are you even chasing it, @highkingnm?

Regardless of whether the drop rate is bugged or not (personally I think it's not bugged since the DLC is still shiny), can't you just wait a few months for the price to come down?

Regardless of whether the drop rate is bugged or not (personally I think it's not bugged since the DLC is still shiny), can't you just wait a few months for the price to come down?

I like it and want to get it because I am a completionist. But it clearly isn’t working in line with the description and it won’t start coming down in price whilst the market is as easy to corner as it is right now.

Important to note it is not a guaranteed item - I have done 6 of the western skyrim treasure maps and have not had a single ancestral reach motif found.

Regardless of whether the rarity is intentional ( probably, for the above reasons ) the description of obtaining them does need some clarification please

I'm sure you're aware by now, @highkingnm, but being a completionist and MMOs don't mix very well ... much like oil and water.

There are many grinds baked into the game before a player even downloads and clicks "play".

I know some players need their full Ancestral Reach motif checked off the list yesterday.

Still though, something as superficially cosmetic as motifs can wait in my opinion.

Very much disagree. It does match well, I had all motifs before markath came out. When you do crafting and master writs, it's convenient to have all since you can craft everything. Some players chase the new trials and dungeons, some players chase new motifs and furnishing plans. I usually have 100% of motifs around a month after a new dlc or expansion.

And that’s your view on this. For me, completing motifs is my big thing because Fashion Scrolls is the true endgame. I don’t mind waiting for motifs, my concern is that the tooltip does not match what is happening, so it is a bug. If this was the only grind I’d grit my teeth and tolerate it, but it seems like it isn’t meant to and treasure maps going for 50k is just silly. As the supply people had before Markaeth is used up, they’ll only get rarer. I’d prefer to know if this is the grind I need to do or whether it is worth waiting until a bug fix where it will take less gold and gaming time (which I could spend completing other motifs).

Also, there are still a lot of people wasting time trying to get them through digging in the Reach and it would be nice if ZOS could let them know that either it won’t work because that was a mistake in the tooltip, or fix it so those people can get the thing they are doing the grind described for.

I’d submit it as a /bug report in game as well. This clearly doesn’t match the description of how to acquire it in game and in the patch notes.

A PTS comment from back in October also pointed to a possible problem where these motif pages might be counting as a bonus loot item that can trip the auto-complete for a dig site but don’t actually show up as loot:
