Lightning staff 'Ticks' reduced to 2 ?

Lightning staff used to be 3 damage 'ticks' (then a final hit), just tested on a dummy and now it's only 2 'ticks'.

Did i miss soething in the patch notes, or just a bug with Combat Metrics add-on ?

    Edit: nope just tested still 4 ticks total. (3 dot 1 direct)

    How are you measuring the ticks ?

    Combat Metrics is showwing 2 ticks only on various targets for me

    Many many things with light and heavy attacks are very different now, without a single mention of any of these varying changes in the patch notes.

    So it seems ;

    1 single channel 2 ticks

    2 continuous channels = 5 ticks

    3 continous channels = 8 ticks

    4 continous channels = 11 ticks

    First channel is missing a tick, subsequent channels are 3 if you continue the channel

    Even if this is unintentional, this seems to big a big nerf to heavy attacks.

    So, just checking, is it 2/3 ticks and then the big final explosion, so basically losing 1 tick from first channel only, or is it 2/3 ticks of damage including final one, meaning each channel loses at least one tick?

    Each channel should be 3 ticks (dots) and a final direct damage hit

    Doing a single channel gives you only 2 dot ticks and a final direct damage hit.

    If you keep your mouse button pressed and complete 2 channels you get 5 dot ticks and 2 direct damage hits

    The first of the 2 channels is missing a dot tick

    Just logged on to test. Seeing the same thing as you in CMX, but when I turn on floating combat text I see 4 hits per channel (3 small DoT ticks and one big hit at the end).

    Wondering if it may be a CMX bug.

    Just found a precursor so I could track health against CMX report and floating text more easily. Looks like it is a CMX issue and not actually missing a tick.

    One more update from another quick test. Looks like the first tick of the first channel is happening before you are registered as in combat if you open the fight with a heavy (but the damage is still being done if you check dummy HP before and after).

    If you do a single light attack and then channel a heavy, for example, you'll see all 4 hits come though.

    First damage tick on a dummy never registers, light attack once before you test things.

    Maybe this is caused because they removed the 200 ms delay on the channel? So the initial tick is instantly registered, so instant that CMX is not registering yet it's still going off? Just a thought.

    Kind of like when you instakill a mob. CMX won't even register the fight.

    Dunno yet about all these combat metrics (forever n00b ^_^) but I noticed I am able to nearly one shot mobs on my mag sorcerer with light attacks while doing much lower damage with heavy attacks LOL Is this intended?
