with the changes to the major / minor buffs the cost reduction enchants, which were already inferior, are now woefully far behind raw regen stats.

obviously nothing is going to chagne for this update, but i still think it's worth mentioning

    Can you elaborate?
How are the changes to the major / minor buffs related to the cost reduction enchants?

regen was already better but with major and minor endurance gettig buffed to 40/20 respectively(back to where they were like 3 years ago lol) they will give us more regen overall.

Cost reduction enchants are really effective on low cost abilities (more than regen). So they still have their use

Cost reduction enchants are superior (even after Major Intellect buff) as long as you use a magicka cost ability each second. The less frequently you use your abilities, the more behind cost reduction glyphs fall off. Which makes cost reduction glyphs rather useless in PvP, and in PvE it's Increase Magical Harm glyphs all the way anyways.

the way the calculations work out cost reduction enchants vary from skill to skill

basically the cost reduction enchant is applied before the % cost reduction, so if a skill costs 1000 resource with 10% reduction you'll have a tooltip of 900.
if you put on a 100 cost reduction enchant on it's now 900 with 10% reduction, so 810 tooltip.

because a lot of skills have a passive which applies 15% or more cost reduction, cost reduction enchants give you less cost reduction than you'd expect, especially if a class has cost reduction or you're using a set like false god.

so let's take mag sorc using ele weapon.

3122 has 15% cost reduction from the Psijic passives, 6% from unholy knowledge and 8% from false god so we're at 2216
so we add a cost reduction glyph, 203 cost reduction. you would expect the skill to cost 2013, however what you get is 2072, a cost reduction of 143.

This is why cost reduction sucks. The more cost reduction % you have, the less benefit you get from the glyph. Regen is better because the more regen % you have the more benefit you get from the glyph.

Mist form builds which disables their mag recovery can be in almost permanent mist form for free with infused spell cost reduction. Other then that I dont find reduce cost glyphs very effective

Pretty sure OP is referring to the major buffs buff.

With them now giving 40% more regents, the cost reduction becomes an even worse choice
