Nothing puts people in a good mood like hearing we are getting another sweeping change content patch when there are bugs and game breaking balance issues that have been going on for many months that are not being even mentioned in the current PTS or anywhere aside from players every day all day.
Yes, toxicity has gone up in direct proportion to declining game performance and poor customer service/communication.

I really can't wrap my head around why people get legitimately worked up about hate comments from 12 year olds, neckbeards, and basement dwellers. Unless you yourself fall into any of those categories you should maybe get a chuckle out of their rage and then immediately move on. These people should be beyond irrelevant to you, and by getting upset about the things they say you let them win.
I normally reply with "I like turtles" and everytime they reply with more hate i just add a really into it...
eg... "I really really really really like turtles".......
The point being to show them they can type whatever they want, its not going to bug me.

Another idea might be to bring in Private Worlds. Large guilds with enough active members (e.g., 100 online) can spawn their own overland/world instance that only guild members can enter and that only has guild chat, not world chat.

I noticed rather quick that the dmg was low, I was running around 30% of the dmg with my healer - Having Hollow, olo and earthgore on. So when the 200-ish CP died again on the first boss I decided this wouldn't be worth the time. I then wrote in game I was leaving 'cause it would be too much of a struggle.

Save to say I am shook about this. I was looking forward to having a nice chill sunday, playing some eso - but having lost family memebers to this awful disease, that cancer is. I am now instead forced to put energy into not letting this ruin my entire day and not letting a knob like that win.
- But this is just, yet another reminder of why I cannot stand doing anything group related in game (unless it's a premade group). The fun is taken out of it when you have to hear people either wishing the worst for you or someone on your team, because they have problems with themselves and their toxicity.
I know it's almost daily you see this, either in dungeons or in zone chats.
What goes on in peoples mind to feel like they can go around saying *** like this to others?
It's just a game - isn't this supposed to be a community where you can expand and have a fun chat with others? Get to know people ect.
I would love to see the consequences for people acting this way much bigger than they are.
Can't we all just be nice to one another instead of this?
You don't know peoples stories, you don't know what they are dealing with - so with kindness you come a long way.

The DD wasn't being nice with the hate whisper, though you werent being nice by abandoning the group after one Boss on a base game dungeon. Especially since you're the Healer and it would take them a long time waiting for another to queue. Not singling you out, just multiple things went wrong with your story.
The most you can do is report the player for harassment. Better if you took a screenshot of the chat log.

Or perhaps coinciding with a different type of player participating in the free trial?
Instead of leaving why didn't you kick the [snip]? I know you said you did 30%of the dps but if tank and other dps were decent why screw them over. People have really short fuse lately. Every other vet dlc dungeon I do, someone leaves. People sometimes leave as soon as we port in or someone mentions it's their first time. Dps queues are long and if tank or healer leaves it often breaks group and back to the long queue. [snip] There may be only 1 bad player in group but what about the other 2? Think about how you ruin their run. I dont justify what the dps whispered you but op acted selfishly.
This kind of abhorrent behavior is good for absolutely nothing...and certainly doesn't motivate people to invest more time and money in the experience. IMO, if behavior like this can be proven via screenshot, there should be zero tolerance. You do it...you're gone. No questions asked.
I enjoy the hate messages. But in this type of game, players from other factions should not be able to message you. Its dumb

No thanks. I don't want to play with bots or against bots.

This, now vDS2 is not an dungeon I would bothered with if group was headless chickens with 11 K health. Not so very technical but pretty impossible if they can not follow instructions as in stay on healer during poison on the last boss, ideally tanks pulls the adds below the boss, dd and healer can help marking out these adds once under the boss they dies in AoE.The DD wasn't being nice with the hate whisper, though you werent being nice by abandoning the group after one Boss on a base game dungeon. When I was farming Moon Hunter, I'd run that zone several times a day as a tank. It really is obvious at the first boss if the group has a chance of finishing the zone. I've had to leave several times and got hate whispers for it. I did feel bad for any tank they may have picked up after I left. Likewise I've zoned into a half finished zone and knew right away why the original tank left. Watching DPS run around doing their precious rotation while the boss has the tank pinned down for the 1 shot attack, is a sure way to see the tank leave.
