Windows?

I really wanted to add more windows (even if they're fake) to the Antiquarian's Gallery. However, there is nothing available that mimics false glass. I can't put in "real" windows with display cases, because I want to break up walls with windows.

Dear devs - can we please have windows? I'd pay crowns for any of the configurations of shuttered windows in the Alpine Antiquarian's gallery. I'd also pay a LOT of crowns for Redguard styled windows that glow at night, and Dunmer windows as well (especially if they glow at night).

I would like to buy windows of varying styles but don’t want to spend crowns for them, gold should be an option too.

I've seen many comments along these lines and I don't know why people think Microsoft is going to be hands on with a game that is over six years old.

Maybe it was a joke. Microsoft. Windows. Some connection there perhaps.

With crown store gifting you can buy anything for gold. Even houses, next patch.

Glass panes without frames in several sizes would be great. It would bring a whole new creative ankle to housing projects.

Thanks for the videos @Konstant_Tel_Necris. These are great techniques, but will NOT do what I need.

I want to put windows on the front and side outer walls of the Antiquarian's Gallery. As in - I don't like the flat wall and want more of what's already on the house (or similar). I even tried mimicing closed shutters, but none of the woods match the outside of the house, nor do any furnishings have the proper scale.
Likewise inside, I don't want to "see" out, I want the fake glowing glass look. I have tried every material in game and while paper will approximate color at the cost of slots, it does not glow at night.

Here's an example of what I mean. This is the downstairs bathroom in Proudspire Manor (Fennorian's Home).



The Redguard Wardrobe is approximating a window to the outside (or a false one since that wall goes to dirt). It's just a trick to make the space appear more open. Still looks like a wardrobe to me, but it kinda works.

I have the slots in this home to do something elaborate (432/600) but nothing seemed to work . I like the bottle glass windows in Proudspire for a Vampire's home, he wouldn't want a lot of light, and decorative windows are great for privacy (a Fenn thing). Yet there is nothing in game that can approximatee that look. Maybe the back of an Elsweyr Cane Mead Winerack... but the bottle angle is off.

I'm very particular about architectural details matching, and it's my style to work with the existing architecture of the house. If you were adding a window in an IRL home, you'd want the same shutters as the other windows... but my only choice here is to replace all the shutters on The Gallery. I LIKE the windows on The Gallery... I don't want different ones.

It's frustrating that we have so few stained glass/decorative windows available to players. Although the antiquity stained glass does project at night, I'm working on a project to mimic a Redguard city at night, specifically the glowing windows. There is NOTHING in game that approximates that pattern. I do not feel the need to waste half of the slots in a house cobbling it. I'll post the home when it's done, but the "solution" I came up with does not do justice to the idea.

Somebody else buys it for me with my gold and I have to trust I won’t get ripped off.

I like a Home Goods vendor option instead where I buy with gold and no one else has to get involved.

You could try tiling wall mirrors but that could be rather expensive. Other options are using some of the blue painted timber shutters to kind of cheese the look of a window behind it like this one. It is a similar size to the existing windows so shouldn't look too out of place

Actually... lol, I'm experimenting with wall mirror rn. xD

Yeah, I know about the blue shutters, but I'm not a fan of the blue. I hate that we have shutters, but they don't match any house in-game. Which is fine if you're building a house. The peeling paint is a turn off for me, unless I was using them on a spooky build.
