Antiquities: Can Sell Motifs But Not Furniture?

I've just excavated a motif, and realized I can sell it. This raises a question. What is the logic behind being allowed to sell motifs you excavate but not furniture?

Because they want us to keep scrying to get enough furnishings to decorate our own houses.

I mean, I could furnish half my guild with Tall Papa's Lamps at this point, but I'm going to keep scrying until I have a music box for each of my houses. Being able to buy the music boxes would be boring and diminish that achievement.

I want the furnishings to come from the effort of hunting leads and scrying for them, not from the ability to farm gold or sell crowns.

On the first week of the PTS testing furnishings were not bound.
Players were really happy that they could sell unwanted furnishings or buy some furnishings, if the lead RNG is not good enough. That was expressed in different (PTS and Housing) threads.
On the second week of the PTS testing furnishings were bound.

Now you can make your own conclusions, as you have all the publicly known information.
