Battlegrounds need more work

I appreciate adding a separate group queue, however, there is very little incentive for people to actually play battlegrounds at the moment.

At higher mmrs 15-20 minute queues are commonplace, and this is with one queue.

Rewards:

To put it simply bg rewards suck. The ap gain is okay, although not even comparable to cyrodiil, considering you can have 30-40 minutes between bg games ending(between queue time and game time).
The bg sets are not even worth running in bgs:
Wizards riposte was reworked from a backbar set into something you need to run on both bars to get the full benefit from. Problem is, its very hard to justify running a set on both bars with mythic items in the game.
Cowards Gear: This set is getting and indirect nerf, via major protection change. Problem: The major expedition buff it provides is too easy to come by via other sources and the new major protection simply wont be worth. Consider changing this set to keep the bonuses for a few seconds after we stop sprinting(maybe make it so you have to sprint for a few seconds for this effect to occur)
Vanguards Challenge: I honestly never seen anyone run this set.
Knight-Slayer: Few people use it, it can be decent aganist high health targets but the current meta supports easier to apply procsets.
Impregnable armor kinda fallen out of the meta with malacath and the addition of base crit resistance, maybe time to change it to an actually good defensive set?

On top of that, we have had the same sets drop since morrowind. Maybe a token system to be able to buy different sets?

The occasional 1k gold worth of treasure is kinda weak in my opinion.

Better incentives for winning/performing well:

Consider adding a bonus reward system if you earn X medallion points in a bg(based on game mode), this would incentivise playing objectives or performing well.

Also please consider removing domination from the game modes pool. Its just a worse version of crazy king, and it actively demotes actually fighting other players.

Also increase the respawn timer for Capture the Relic, its insane that i can wipe an entire team on their relic and they can respawn before i can finish picking up the relic.
It makes it so that the most valid way of getting a relic is to try to sneak in while the defending team is busy with the 3rd team.

The list goes on but, seriously please consider updating bg sets, so that theyre worth using in actual Battlegrounds. And think about upping the rewards as well please.

    20-30 minutes que times?

    Dude try with 40-60 minutes on PC EU for really High MMR, its ludacris.

    And the most un though decision to lock the choice for a match for the GROUP que is without any logic, since all the premades WANT DEATHMATCH,
    we don't want stupid flag and relic games, we want PvP

    Yeah high mmr pcna is more like an hour, then an unfillied or unbalanced game that is boring. into another hour long que.

    Regardless of whatever gametype it is, every match is deathmatch.

    They dont need to remove domination. But instead reduce the number of flags to 2. For Frost/teleport map one up one downstairs, and for the rest 2 flags semi close in the middle.

    Also carrying a chaosball and a relic should apply a snare to you so that people can catch up and you actually have to fight over it.

    I think if they rework the bgs modes for group que it could be a nice change for bgs.
    One of the reasons why they took the choice is also that people cant tryhard buildcraft for one specific bg type. No one wants to face 4 harbinger tank in deathmatch. But in flag or land games you can just ignore them.

    The only reason they removed specific modes is so they wouldn't splinter the already small bg player base.
    They need do something to get ppl into bgs or we can all enjoy our hour long grp queues come next patch.

    Battlegrounds failed because of two glaring issues that have never been fully addressed to this day.

    1. BGs have little to no available player choice. How is there still no option to play with CP?
    2. BGs are not competitive and not casual.

    There was an experiment with CP battlegrounds one patch. It was absolute disaster, unkillable tanks linked with Guard trolling everywhere. BG matches ended at 15th minute mark with little to no deaths. After this experience it's no suprirse there is no such mode, even as an option.

    The scale in BG is too small for such a big variable as CPs are, on top of other big variables.

    Zos still just "testing" bgs. Maybe in couple years it will finish it test phase and we actually will get proper changes.

    You are right, 4 years worth of beta testing for bgs clearly wasn't enough.
