Stats consolidation

Looked through the PTS sets currently and noticed nothing has changed as far as the mentioned stat consolidation on their tooltips, Crit Chance, spell/weapon damage, spell/physical penetration?

I was thinking the same thing. The only sets in the game that combined crit and penetration are the newest crafting sets (Spell/Weapon damage were never suppose to be combined).

It seems like they haven't updated everything yet and only managed to touch on the newest sets. Even sets like New Moon that have bonuses with both values (spell/weapon crit/penetration) did not have their bonus combined for simplicity sake.

See below the only 2 examples in the game I could find, of how it will look.
    Red Eagle’s Fury
2 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
    3 – Adds 833 Critical Chance
4 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
5 – Adds 469 Weapon and Spell Power to your Weapon Skill abilities. Increases the cost of your non-Weapon Skill abilities by 5%.

    Legacy of Karth
    2 – Adds 833 Critical Chance
3 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
    4 – Adds 1487 Offensive Penetration
5 – Enemies affected by your Alchemic Poisons take 1973 Disease Damage every 1 second.

If crit is being combined.. then why do we still have Major/Minor Savagery/Prophecy when we only have Resolve and Breach now. Crit Damage and Crit Resistance don't get split in 2 stats, so why does crit chance, it's "brother" like Resolve/Breach have 2 options.

Further clarification on this matter would be nice. Was this missed for the first week, what can we expect in the coming weeks? @ZOS_GinaBruno

How do you imagine merging Minor Prophecy and Minor Savagery? One is provided by NB, the other one by sorc. You think of both classes applying the same merged buff? Because, that would drasticaly reduce demand for sorc in trials.

Merger of Major Prophecy and Savagery is different case. Simple merger is not possible and rework to alchemy traits would be needed.

I think that merger of Prophecy and Savagery would cause more harm than good.

They already said they're doing it. One of the only reasons I can see them waiting is because they haven't quite figured out the implications combining crit will have on everything in the game, if you rewatch the stream, they expecitly say that crit and penetration will become when stat and the team is currently auditting every sorurce. It's just a matter of time. As of Update 24, they also mentioned they were going to be combining penetration like Ward and Resolve. It's been a year and we're only just getting the change in Update 28.

So yes, if they combine them, they will need to provide something new to 1 of the 2 classes. I've argued previously that Sorc's should keep the minor crit buff because of the synergy with crit surge while NB's should get crit damage since they can guarantee crit damage via cloak, already have a crit chance passive and thus, crit chance is sort of less important for them.

If they don't go with a unique buff, they will have to choose between minor force and minor breach for NB's, minor force would be game changing. We would no longer be forced to run skills like Barbed Trap, Medusa or Acceleration. So imo, minor force is the obvious choice for NB's. Barbed trap would still be worth running for stamina dps because it's an 18s dot, providing double the damage of a spammable, just over 18s.

It wouldn't cause any harm if they manage to make unique effects or morphs. They literally just did it with Fracture/Breach and they did it with Resolve/Ward in Update 24 (Oct 2019). This has been a long time coming, skills like Lotus Flower will finally get unique morphs. Hybrids will be much easier to build for. Stats will be easier to track and build for.
