YES, it's frustrating that this isn't a voluntary thing BUT if it will help fix and hopefully it's an actual "FIX", then I am all for it. What the devs are struggling with is it's near impossible to find and sort out bugs in a PTS or private server instance...doing it on the LIVE server will give far more accurate results to zero in on the issues at hand, and frankly it's a very small cost for us players to pay if it corrects longstanding issues. Remember, WE are complaining about issues and the way ZoS has to go about solving them isn't always the convenient way we want. Like @Luke_Flamesword said, these are planned tests, and only in Cyrodiil, and highly unlikely to be permanent. PvP is one of the biggest strains on combat systems in ESO which has always had problems. If they get it right there, then everyone else, including PvE players will benefit. Imagine ESO without combat being so clunky and more responsive. That's the dream at least.
Lets see what ZoS can do with the tests and go from there.

100% agree it's perfectly fine to do the test on live, it's the only way they can.
It's nothing to do with that.
My issue 100% is the fact that changes seem to be made if they benefit the players or not. As seen with the recent rapids change.
You said "Imagine ESO without combat being so clunky and more responsive."
Is that what you guys picture when adding 3 second delays to things?
In what world does a 3 second delay add responsiveness and make things less clunky?
That's why I'm scared, cause people seem to take this "ZOS will test it and figure it all out" approach to things.
Our feedback is not required and at this point PTS is probably just there for ZOS to collect data, let people practise new rotations and create hype if possible.ZOS_RichLambert wrote: »You know you don't have to be here right?
Eh, this is completely different. You compare small change with big testing. This would be all cool and groovy, but you see the 11 pages on the rapids change?
There were dozens of pages before that change just went through anyways.
