Tank Monster Set Question

OrionPriest
I'm looking for some Monster Set wisdom. My warden tank usually runs Lord Warden, but I'm looking for a more healing/recovery focused option for PUGs, and depending on what buffs I use Lord Warden puts me over the resistance cap. Which provides a more reliable heal Nightflame or Earthgore? Is there another one that I should look at for overall recovery like Rkugamz or maybe even Chokethorn?

I want Stonekeeper but I haven't got the Vet clear yet......

Stonekeeper is on the golden right now and all weekend.

Kinda depends on what you want to do, and how well it jibes with other sets.

On my Electro-proc Sorc tank, I get good results from using StormFist, but it's certainly unorthodox.

I also really like Temorscale; but if you are running with a bunch of Magicka DPSs it's not a good fit.

Spawn of Mephala could act to improve your lockdowns; but I've not played with it much.

Sellestrix does an interesting sounding stun, but again, I haven't played with that much.

Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

In PUG runs I prefer Earthgore, 4% healing done not a big deal, but proc itself can save someone's arse quite often. Symphony of Blades can be used too, if you want to help with sustain.
Lord Warden not that good in PUG runs, because it requires stacking. Sentinel of Rkugams also decent, but resourses return not that good.
Personally, I'd recommend to check Earthgore in the first place, it's really good set. But it requires to keep some HoT all the time on your group to rely on it.

After the nerf is not that good tbh. I'd say it's kinda trash, resourses return are too low and just waste of 2 item slots.

I have found for monster sets- great ones are either healthy recovery or magic recovery. My dk tank is a Nord with max resist and set up in a way that his resources rarely struggle. It’s so fun and easy to build

You should run fv now if you want the vet clear, in 2 days they are fixing the 4th boss which bugs and desummons avalanche (the frost atro) after first wipe. It is a tanking test this one.

Nightflame is a good option, it's up almost all the time if you use it with blood altar.

Problem is, most Monster Sets that Heal or provide recovery need you to cast a Heal to Proc them. Not natural for a Tank to do that. Unless GBD would proc it, but the tips read to me like a heal applied to someone else.

Better I think would be to find a set that deals damage based on you taking damage or blocking. So your natural tank activities proc the effect. If your a Warhorn or Magma Shield kind of Tank, then Bloodspawn is awesome for that.

If you're into a selfish option, Engine Guardian can be used instead of Stonekeeper if you didn't manage to get the shoulder piece (assuming you bought the helmet). The resource return is random, but as a tank you can use all three so it'll always be helpful. It's from an easier dungeon and has a shorter cooldown than Stonekeeper so it's nice for either starting out, or if you don't need to block very much.

Malubeth the Scourger has been a longtime favorite as well if you want a straight up healing option. It's typically seen on saptanks for theme reasons, but it's also a nice option for PUGs where you don't always get experienced healers.

One option is one chokethorn and one shadowrend for example.

If you want more healing Troll King is also possible
2 GOs, an overlord and bunches of prefects etc-- all classes...I've wasted a lot of time in PVP

Someone mentioned Bogdan, and that's my favorite on NB tank. Refreshing path procs it constantly and keeps the team with major expedition. Would work on Templars, Necro, probably all of them with the right heal slot.

Someone else mentioned Sellestrix, yes! Ranged or melee knockdowns, very easy to get. Blast to use, and fast CD as well. So nice on trash packs and adds.

Rest of them seem way overnerfed, so often use a dps monster or a mix.

If u use altar/other high uptime heal then just get symphony. Prolly best solution for most pugs (unlike termo just for stams). Unless u need resources for yourself?

As for def warden is weak and u need stacking. For extra heals earthgore since it is smart heal (random heals arent reliable) - unless u again talking bout heals for yourself?..

Want to mention that different Symphonys doesn't stack, so if healer wears Symphony, it's better to swap for something else, otherwise it'll be a waste.
