Please let me be an Alfiq!

Dear ZOS, please let me be an Alfiq. I'm enjoying Elsweyr and all the while thinking it would be fun to play as an Alfiq.

Maybe a quest where you have to do some easedropping and spying after someone turns you into an Alfiq. It's a cute temporary thing because of course you can't play as an Afiq lol.

Maybe it could be a memento as well.

As nice as it would be, it would never happen, since they'd need to alter how gear and weapons sit on an Alfiq model. And how does a tiny quadruped use a two-handed weapon like a greatsword, a staff, or a bow, or any weapon for that matter? You could argue that since Alfiq are supposed to the most magickally inclined of the furstocks they could use a telekinesis spell, but then ZOS would have to add a whole thing for Alfiq to use weapons without actually holding them, and then you'll have people saying "Well if the Alfiq can have this thing why can't the rest of the races, all of them could theoretically use telekinesis too!" and it would just be a mess.

Wanted to play Alfiq since elsweyr. So I have to endorse this. As a trade-off you can't use weapons but your magic regen would be extremely high or something.

My alfiq werewolf nightblade is ready.

Good luck reaching jewelry boxes on bookcases. Your non-vertically challenged bretheren will be raking in the loot while you grub around on the floor I was surprised how inconvenient some stealing locations were when playing a small Bosmer after a large Kahjiit.

Creating a new skill line turning into a Senche-Raht would be awesome too.

Again, [snip], this game and Elder Scrolls in general is built around playing a humanoid character so that gear is universally applicable between all races. Animations, too.

Sub-races such as Alfiq exist to enhance a setting. But not everything in a fantasy RPG, and this applies to any setting, is designed or intended for player characters.

I don't see people [snip] to play as a Land Dreugh, which ironically is a more realistic request than "playable Alfiq".

If a new race option is ever added, it's gonna' be Maormer. They fit the criteria perfectly.

Well, resource limitations aside, there could be special models for gear and different animations added. Imagine how cute Dragon Leap or Teleport Strike would look!
Dreughs are ewwwww. Alfiq are cute. It's that simple. Maormer are cool though.

The odds of playing as an Alfiq are slim to none, most people know this. [snip] who would like to play something different, what difference does it really make?

Yes, we have the mouse phase in depths of malatar.

We also become an monkey for an short phase in an quest also an mousatron in an CWC quest.

Now we had the old bug there you could play as an pet, it was visual for you only but very cool and an shame they fixed it.

Not sure how this got so ugly. All ACTUAL issues aside, I think it would be awesome to be able to play as an Alfiq!

Just because it may not be possible does not mean it isn't fun to discuss what it COULD be like

Ha ha, while I don't disagree on real life kitties, I'm not so confident on ZoS' ability to make a working/playable Alfiq. Their horses tilt wierdly on inclines and I can't walk over a pebble.

There was also a bug with the Fan of the False Face house item where once activated and in monkey form, if you exited your house and went back in your stayed in monkey form until bar swap or activating a skill. It was purely visual for yourself and everyone else in the house would see your character, but funny any way. Not sure if it's been patched, will have to test again later

They "Might" be able to get away with having weapons/staff etc if they them "magically". Like have a magical greatsword float over their heads (Kinda like the daggers for Sorcerers) and that's what attacks you...not the cat.

I think it would only be fair that you would have to equip a greatsword in order for the magical one to appear. It should make it easier to allow them into the fighting game.

However, some of the grass in the area are pretty tall, it'd be hard to see anything while running across the world in 1st person (what? people do that??) and they just fall off a cliff. Fun times!!!

I'd like to see them ride a normal size mount, and while just sitting there they start to clean themselves lol that would be fun to watch.

Alls I'm sayin is it is doable.

If they made an alfiq appearance it'd have to be unusable in PVP areas due to the insane tactical advantage that'd bring. Same reason why the Kollopi Essence is also disabled in PVP zones.

I know there are a ton of practical issues, but if they figured out a way to make this work, it'd improve my enjoyment of the game ten fold. Want to be an Alfiq mage so badly!!!

In order for this to work they'd almost have to invent a new weapon line or two exclusively for Alfiqs. I could imagine a sort of talisman, as a magicka weapon, that is functionally close to a staff but with different animations obviously. The ult would have to be comparably as good as elemental storm to be fair. Reworking the animations for some class abilities could be a pain, though I don't imagine it would be that bad for some that have a generic casting animation.

As for how gear is displayed on the Alfiq model, I suggest it just isn't. Instead, have various costume unlocks that can be found around the world (antiquities, dungeon drops, achievements). Oh yeah and crown store. 😝

Give an Alfiq the same click-radius as a Bosmer so they have a reasonable chance at reaching things. Give them a comparable hitbox so they can all be hit reasonably, too.

Uh. Make them glow neon colors in PVP so people can see them idk. That one is tricky. 😂

Alfiq are cute but not efficient for gameplay. You can have an Alfiq banker follow you around.
