can we get a dev response as to why AoE taunting is not a thing in this game?

ESO is mechanically behind most modern MMOs so I'm not surprised.

Behind WoW, FF14, and BDO or are we talking about MMORPGs that are limited to small markets? I think ESO is ahead of those big labels and the smaller games that are not good enough to warrant a decent following are not worth talking about.

And again, all content in ESO has been successfully tanked a great many times without an AoE taunt which goes to show the fact is not needed. It is best for newer players to learn to tank correctly.

FFXIV in particular comes to mind as it's the one I play the most. The only thing ESO has over FFXIV is that every NPC is voiced here. Other than that it's clear day and night.
    1) Raids are more mechanically engaging.
    2) Crafting and gathering is more fleshed out and are entire jobs
    3) You can't get fake tanks in FFXIV because a Paladin or a Gunbreaker can only tank for example.
    4) All jobs are playable on one character so you don't have to grind a new one.
    5) The game doesn't randomly crash.

As for the tanking issue I don't need it to be engaging or exciting. Sometimes I just want to get in and out of a dungeon as quickly as possible. And if an aoe taunt helps me do that then why not? My life has enough meaning already. I don't need tanking to feel like this super complex thing (which it totally isn't) to feel accomplished. Being able to grab and hold 20 or so mobs en route to the boss so dps can aoe them down would be a huge quality of life update.

Also why does Frost staff heavy attack taunt!?

Really ruins the Warden Frost theme when you have to unskill just to make an item usable without messing things up

Yeah this never made sense to me.

    How about this...

Create...a TAUNT skill line so that you know what you're creating and everyone else won't taunt accidentally.

Put the skill in the Undaunted Guild.
