Ahh, to be a fresh face again. Welcome to the Forum.

I applaud threads like this, the game gets hate way too often and not enough people actually pointing out it's positive qualities and what they enjoy/appreciate. On your points about the visuals and Lore, I'm adding my agreement, the sunsets on Auridon always catch me off guard whenever I'm there at the right moment, and the Aurora I caught just the other night in Haafingar was quite nice. Put on some Brunuhville for extra atmosphere while you take in the sights.

I though don't quite enjoy the combat. It feels too much like a Hack'n'Slash, the attacks don't feel real. You do an animation and your target has a white or gold number pop up. If somehow it could feel like there was some more weight to your weapons and spells, like they were actually affecting the character models.

I know exactly where you coming from in regards to Hack'n'Slash feel to the game.
I'd like to add I feel as if the game has good intention on the targeting a monster or player concept behind it but I feel in PVP its annoying in some sorta way when some people are so good with dodging and or moving out the way of line of sight so fast and almost unlimited, it's ridiculous haha. But this is a unique aspect of the MMO.

    1. They ignore 99.9 percent of input --- good because most of the input are ideas that people want to overbuff something and pretend that's not the case

Only if you are looking at a narrow area. Many quality of life things are really needed, especially in the area of crafting. Ever tried to do the master writs that pile up?

Smoothing those out (quality of life/play) would not overbuff anything.

    • They allow people to make addons to enhance the GUI.
    • They do not force PVP and let players CHOOSE when/if to PVP, avoiding griefing/toxicity.
    • All quest content is fully voice acted by serious talent.
    • Able to craft reasonably competitive end-game sets.
    • Good diversity of gear sets/proc effects (though the meta chasers still say you can only use 3 or 4 of them LOL).
    • Pretty scenery.
    • Good quest design and storytelling.
    • Plenty of stuff to do for everyone.

    3. Voice over and some great stories (mature contents). The music and audio is good too.

I would love to enjoy the music BUT every time I enter combat it ends. There needs to be an option to remove that annoying clamor, that CONSTANTLY interrupts the tracks.

    It's very alt friendly:
    • shared gear,
    • shared storage
    • shared outfits
    • shared CP,
    • even convenience of using stipend/crowns for shared skill lines. (This could lead down the pay-to-avoid-grind micro transaction path, but it hasn't gone too far down that path yet, in my opinion)

Some other QoL things I enjoy:
[*] Trials are generally well designed and can be run with various class/role combinations. Yeah there are meta set ups but group composition-wise, you don't need to follow them to complete 99% of content.

[*] You can respec any character to a different role whenever you choose. Or change primary stats and change playstyle. So if you muck up your choices, you aren't locked in.

[*] PvP had lots of flexible play options: solo, small group, large scale in open world or BG's. It was fast fun and furious but not very toxic...or too FPS twitchy....compared with many other PvP type games. *Fingers crossed performance issues are sorted so we get to enjoy it as much as we used to*.

[*] I also like the introduction of transmutation so, as the number of sets and the number of dungeons increase with new sets, we can change traits on the set we want, rather than doing the same dungeon 400 times or more*
*(Maelstrom should give tokens per run or some such for drops to allow us to barter for from there- but that's a whole other thing.)

I really like their philosophy on gear in general, instead of increasing item lvl all the time making all old gear useless and have instead made it to where I can still use Julianos which is how many years old now? and also that they try to update older sets that aren't used very often (altough they could do this on a greater scale in my mind, there are aaaaa lot of bad sets out there).

I also enjoy how I can be a mag sorc in heavy armour with swords if I want to or a sorc tank, healer or dps. This is what keeps me coming back eventhough it's laggy as hell in cyro. The freedom to play what you want and how you want is great.

These two things combine also makes theorycrafting in this game aaaa lot of fun, making serious builds or troll builds are fun to do. Because you have every set in the game to choose from, with the freedom to build your char however you want. Traits, enchants and mundus stones just adds to the option of customization and I love it.

It ain't imaginary bro. In every multiplayer game with non-optional PVP I have played in the last 15 years, every single one had a huge number of people that would go out of their way to gank crafters and camp quest hubs killing NPC's and lower level/geared players, disrupting their time and enjoyment of the game by forcing the way THEY want to play onto others.

When PVP is non-optional there is no such thing as honorable PVP. THAT is what is truly imaginary.

i agree the game is great but I can't agree on the graphics side. Graphics quality is behind other games where color realism, detail and shading is much better. This will only get worse when next-gen consoles drop and newer games come out
