I see 0 reason to disagree or be against something that has 0 negative effects on you and anyone and positive effect on someone. in this case newbies. just because you don't think it matters doesn't refuse the fact that having bonus XP on a low level is very nice.

It promotes an instant gratification, gimmie gimmie for free mindset that might stick with a new player and make them think that more and more things should require no patience, skill, or planning. That’s not a good idea for this time of game.
The suggestions that have been made are not difficult by any means. The starter islands are there for a reason. It’s not going to be obvious to newer players to go there before questing in the new zone they start in if they have any of the additional chapters, so I do wish the game would make that more clear to them.

I know it's a separate issue but the Training set needs to be un-nerfed. 😜

Are we all sick of newbies 'begging for training gear' in chat? I almost never see that. The constant 'Come join XXX guild and be a werewolf!' stuff is way more widespread and annoying imo.

It's not hard to get your hands on training gear, whatever way you approach it. All looted items have a chance to be training trait, all the starter area chests have a chance to drop it and if you want to craft it it doesn't take so long.

And to echo the other replies - you level so fast at low levels that it's not really that relevant. I think most people use it later on, when they're grinding champion points or want to level an alt up to 50 quickly.

You dont seem to understand the point here. Sure having XP bonuses is nice, but getting them is part of the game. Every player has to play the game and progress through this. The traits are part of this progression.

Besides that your idea is half thought through. Even if you give this trait for free, what are new players supposed to do with this? Do they have the materials to build it? The upgrade materials to improve the bonus? What happens if they level up? Do you realy think they will have their crafting level always up to date and skill points put in? Knowing a trait is a small piece towards getting a gear set.

It only takes 6 hours per item to learn the trait, so in a few days, they could learn the trait themselves.

Since they would need 7 Armor Pieces and a Weapon, that is 48 Hours total, or at one or two a day for week.

it should take a week or two to level up to 50 anyway even for a VERY EXTREMELY casual player.

Took me about 4 months to level my last character. I was questing, doing some PVP with guildmates, took part in Jubilee event (double xp there!). I play since 2016 - I know that dolmen and Skyreach things. But I want to play, not spending hours doing one and the same thing till I go crazy. Same for new players. Start an amazing game and do only dolmens every day - who would want to waist time like this?

You can hit level 50 in about 20 days playing a character 1 hour a day, just get to level 10 and queue for a random dungeon and a random battle ground every day, you can make training gear 2 pieces at a time plus 2 weapons at a time.
    Day one research
-1 heavy armor in training trait
-1 light or medium armor in training trait
-1 bow or staff in training trait
    -1 two handed weapon
Day two equip that stuff and do
-1 heavy armor in training trait
-1 light or medium armor in training trait
-any other weapon you could want

By the 4th day you'll be one piece short and can just make higher level stuff. It is very easy but unfortunately the game sucks at explaining it

Why can't OP craft? Crafting is open to all players, with or without sub. The only thing you need something special to craft is Jewelry and that "something special" is just access to Summerset.

Meh. I've leveled something like 10 characters just using dropped gear. Crafted training gear isn't exactly a necessity.

I always did exactly the same for all my 18 chars.

Crafting is fine as it is, as stated several times above.

And don't feel bad, on zone chat there's ALWAYS someone who helps those in need even if you can't.

I agree with everyone that there's no need for new players to have any gear beyond that which drops from mobs or chests in the starter islands or which they get for doing early quests. Just point them in the direction of the start of the main quest and they'll end up in their appropriate starter island anyway.

As for which is more irritating, new players begging for gear or established players begging for guild recruits, I wouldn't know. I disabled zone chat at launch and over six years on have yet to see a single reason to enable it. Zone English is fine for the more serious questions, but frankly the game leads you by the nose in most respects so there's very little reason to ask for help or be called on to give it.

we're all tired of seeing new players beg in chat for training gear

Who is "we"? You speak for yourself, not the rest of us.
but I can't craft and I feel bad.

    Learn to, then.
please, let them craft training trait items, or make some sets "base training sets" like armor of the trainee or something. and give them the ability to craft it. you can't introduce the crafting system early on and then be like "oh it will take hundreds of hours before you can craft ***". also a lot of people will scam them or half ass it and ask for gold. make the training trait learned by default!!!!!!

As has already been expounded here by others, learning the training trait on gear takes little time overall, not to mention the main storyline literally leads you through zones where chests, quests & boss/random mobs provide easy access to armor of the trainee gear that's perfectly adequate in tandem with other dropped loot for new players.

You know what has a bigger positive effect on new players? Encouraging them to join a guild if they want assistance, because that not only provide them with ridiculously easy (and in the majority of cases, free) access to training gear, it also provides them with a group of players to whom they can turn when they have questions or other needs.

I see 0 reason to agree with you on this issue.

And all started without the ability to instantly craft training gear on day one, yet we survived. ;)

Exactly what I was thinking. Heck, most guilds will have people who will craft the set bonus for lowbies for matts, or even totally free.

    Problem solved.

It is not that at all. Reasons, for why it is not needed, are being provided. All of us know exactly what it takes to level up a character. Many of us did it when it took much longer than it does today as there were no XP scrolls or events that offered double XP back when we leveled up.

I would suggest linking your ESO account to Bethesday/Zos twitch and watch the Zos/Bethesda QuakeCon stream tomorrow at 12:00PM EDT https://www.twitch.tv/bethesda. Do this and you will get an Ouroboros Crown Crate which has a chance to drop an XP scroll. Then watch official ESO streams listed in the link I provided for more Ouroboros Crown Crates and more chances to get XP scrolls.

Add to that ESO players that stream will likely have drops active. When their stream indicates that you can get one Ouroboros Crown Crate per day from watching them. iirc, this stacks with watching an official ESO stream. Regardless, read that article and it has many opportunities.

How to link your ESO to twitch

BTW, being at work, or even asleep, during the twitch stream is no excuse. I have opened the stream via my phone and turned it upside down, with volume off, when at work. I have also left it streaming on a PC while doing something else, it just needs to be on top (the actual active window).

EDIT: I forgot to mention, back in my day we had to find the traits in-game as no on had them. Today a large number of players have all the traits or even most of them and can help others with their research. BTW, guilds are great for this.
