What is with giving vampire themed stam/tank sets this expansion when the vamp skill line is DPS?

Hey all, I don't think there is enough attention surrounding this topic. We've gotten 0 Magicka DPS or healing vampire themed sets this whole expansion and I find that pretty concerning since the year is almost over and the skill line these sets are themed after is magicka DPS.

Why does this relate to the PTS? Well, I'm talking about the new and only Vampire Lord monster set we will ever get along with the Crimson Twilight set.

I find it very off putting that the only monster set vampire lord will receive is based off of stamina instead of magicka and is meant for stam dps/tank. You'd think it would at least scale with magicka since vampire lords are known to be very magicka orientated creatures and the literal effect of the set is a blood magic spell....

Next up is Crimson Twilight. Cool set, looks cool, has a powerful effect. But it scales off of stamina (bleeding damage) and can only be procced reliably when tanking. Why?

All of this in combination with the fact the Mythic item for vampires is a "magicka tanking" item is insane, in my opinion. Why can't we get magicka scalings on these abilities at least?? It's very confusing to me as someone who wants to build a full on vampire build and use appropriately themed gear.

I could get behind Crimson Twilight being for tanks if at the very least the monster helm was magicka based, but nope. Yet another stam set with a vampiric theme. Or heck even if the vampire skill line could be played reliably on a stam character or if there were stam morphs for the vamp abilities then sure. I'd be down to roll a Bloodknight tank. But it is a magicka skill line. We're led to believe vampires are magicka creatures, yet none of these sets are fit in line with the theme.

Even the mythic that was supposedly made by a very dark "vampire blacksmith" way back when is weirdly meant for tanking.

I think we can all agree one or the other here needs to scale off of magicka damage, right? It just seems so silly.

Good points, but the entire year's theme is surrounding werewolves, undead and vampires which entails blood, sacrifices, poison and disease too. It's just a cohesive way to design all the sets, I wouldn't say that's reserved for Magicka because of vampires.

That being said, this theme hasn't been very interesting to me and I'm tired of it so I'm happy this is the last DLC surrounding it. I was hoping they'd lean more into ice themed sets because of the location, it's about time Ice Wardens got a DPS monster set, anything besides fire at this point really..

You raise another good point as well. Where are the ice damage monster sets? Ice heart does not count because its a tanking set with a spell crit modifier on it.

Well, that's the thing, I'd agree with you that it is a cohesive way to design the sets. But I don't understand why none of the vampire-related sets have to do with magicka dps?

Like I get it fits the theme, but magicka is strangely being left out.

That said, I can agree with needing more ice DPS sets for wardens. I feel like our issues are one in the same there. At least you have an ice dps monster helm kinda (Iceheart), thematically the vamp lord set helm is going to be doing stam damage. Imagine if iceheart did like, idk, bleeding or physical damage or something. That's how having a disease damage type on a magicka blood ball feels.

I'd give Iceheart a technical pass because at least its effect does a decent bit of damage when fighting a tone of enemies.

Also ice itself in ESO isn't really dps, which is sad.
