Burning Spellweave Question

On live, the burning status effect from BSW is separate from the normal burning status effect. This allows you to have 2 separate burning DoTs when BSW procs. Is this still the case on PTS?

I'd like to know this to and I'm assuming its still the case after reading the patch notes.

"Burning Spellweave:

Reduced the Spell Damage granted from this set to 490, down from 525.

This set no longer has a proc chance. Now when you deal damage with a flame ability, you apply the burning status effect to the enemy and increase you spell damage by 490 for 8 seconds. This effect can occur once every 12 seconds."

My magDK appreciates the extra flame status effect proc when it comes to their passives.

I didn't notice if it has a different burning status effect when I tested it, I just noticed the damage was underwhelming compared to other sets ( PvE wise )

Even scathing mage parsed higher.

The up time is improved compared to live, it was very easy to get a 60%+ uptime
however like @brandoncoffmannub18_ESO noted, I found the dps to be sub par. Not entirely sure why, but it's a bit lackluster, at least on a sorc.

I was more interested in it as a replacement for siroria to be honest.

Not everyone can get their hands on perfected siroria, and the proc conditions on siroria aren't the best in all situations.

It was a stupid nerf but it allows non magdks to he a great up time and now also can be used as a back bar set for pvp.
Still dissatisfied with the nerf

I didn't even finish the parse it was so bad compared to whip.

Mother's Sorrow is not the best set in a realistic scenario since you won't have 100% Major Force uptime. So Succession is currently better. However the new dungeon set which increases critical damage is a direct buff to Mother's Sorrow so it will be the best. Just talking about the current patch.

What about Siroria with Elf Bane?

In trials mother sorrow is normally still better even if force isn't 100% due to mystic orb hitting many more enemies and especially in sunspire because the dragon is so fat, then if you take into consideration catalyst as you did it's even stronger.

What about Siroria with Elf Bane?

Elf bane hits sustain hard because talons is so expensive and sustain is already such ***, plus makes whip do much less damage since you use claw and engulfing even less, and also you lose out on a lot of crit.

Elf bane is pretty much dead without blood for blood or the asylum burning bug in PvE giving massive sustain.
