Beta founder returning

    "Founder" implies that you were in some form responsible for creating the game, like Romulus and Remus were the founders of Rome. For someone not familiar with the games that use this term (which are those? I've never heard someone use the term for an day-one player), it makes it seem like you were a developer or in a similar role. So it's not pejorative, to many it just seems like the wrong word for what is meant.
    Welcome back. :)

    SWTOR has a "founder" medal which was assigned to those who were subscribers on day one, just as an example. It's also an in-game title for same. Founder's Day would be another way to put it. It would never occur to me to think of it as if someone were a developer.
    VR14 Templar, VR14 DK, VR8 DK, VR7 NB, VR1 Sorcerer;
    All 3 Alliances;
    2 Pre-order Imperial Accounts, yes that means 16 characters on NA alone

    Welcome back! I don’t think the “founder” term is used in ESO (I started in Nov. 2013, and I’ve never used it), but I guess it’s common in other games. I’ll bet you’ll prefer the current system to the old VR grind. And I’d recommend a subscription, if only for the infinite crafting storage bag.

    Enjoy!

    If "founder" means day one player, then I too am a founder, and have the beta pet to prove it.

    If it means anything beyond that tho, then no, I'm not anything more significant than an open beta player.

    Max gear rank is CP160 and character rank is CP810.

    Slight clarification for the OP:

    You can earn CP far beyond those numbers; I think the max earnable CP is a 4-digit number starting with 3-- for some reason 3200 comes to mind, but I'm not sure whether that's correct, because I think maybe it should be a multiple of 30(?).

    But currently the max CP that you can assign to the 9 constellations of the CP system is 810, or 270 CPs per primary group (Fighter, Mage, and Thief). The max assignable CP used to be less than 810, and whenever they released a new DLC(?) they would increase that max by 30(?). I used to wonder how players could instantly go from being something like CP720 to CP750 on the day that a new DLC was released, until someone in the UESP forums explained to me that CP can be earned far beyond the max assignable CP that's displayed for L50 characters. But then ZOS decided to freeze the max assignable CP at 810 while they try to figure out how to rework the whole CP system.

    And the max CP level for gear is 160, as already stated.

    Anyway, welcome back!

    Beta was always superior to VHS but of course the cheaper format won out.

    After 5 years absent, i am considering returning. Given the amount of DLC since I left in early 2015 I am curious how one can buy all the content upfront, or should I subscribe or what? I have the launcher doing an infinite update now, and have recovered the names and log-ins for my accounts so far, so this process is just beginning. When I left i had at least one V12 avatar that I can remember, and a passel of other Vlevel characters.

    Any tips about the process and how I might handle getting back in will be welcome, thank you.

    Until such time, all time be time.

    Waaaait a minute: how it is that "returning threads" are allowed while "leaving threads" are not?!? :D

    The game is totally different from what we played during beta and after launch. From the craft bag to DLC to XP gains and free crowns Plus is the way to go. Start a new character and bring them up playing the game in the order that it was originally intended. That overarching story is too good to screw up by starting in a later era laden with spoilers.

    I wouldn't buy all the content upfront. I recommend subbing until you are sure you want to stay and play.

    If you want a friend, get a dog.

    “Beta Founder Returning”

    The game still hasn’t left beta. It actually went back to alpha.
