Guys were all a bit upset but please stop acting like you know how to run Zenimax. Your outrage does no good here. Be polite and suggest things for sure but leave the outrage and entitlement out of it k?

Well if I have to choose between the people who have been "acting" for years now, and forum goers wanting to "act", I choose the people who have been at it for years and have knowledge

Well actually I stopped complaining about such things years ago (check my post history), but you have to admit the latter part is a good one.

But guess what? Calling us "entitled" when we want to use a product we paid for is not particulary helpful either. It smells of white knighting, really.

It is a product where part of the experience is going to be downtime and setbacks. This has been the standard of MMO's since the beginning of time. Sometimes the gym that you pay membership to is closed as well.

Log off, go do something else during the downtime, and come back later or tomorrow when things are smoothed out.

You say it smells of white knighting, but I say that throwing a temper tantrum everytime the server has an issue reeks of spoiled entitlement.

Im not going off on you friend. If you have an issue then by all means make the case. Im talking about the people who act like this game is holding them back in life. Not that serious man.

Said something along those lines earlier, yeah.

Yes, we paid for this thing. Some of us even paid for premium membership. Did any of that ANYWHERE come with a guarantee of 24/7 uninterrupted access? No, people just kind of assumed it did, even though it makes little logical or practical sense for that to be the case.
No such guarantee was given, and in fact the EULA everyone signs states the exact opposite. What's that? You didn't read it? Shame. Shame. Shame.

Quite, frankly. Being unavailable one day out of like twenty to thirty is pretty stellar. Beat that, McFit, you amateurs.

Sound like a person who knows nothing about how things run in the world. You generate dissatisfaction or outrage, you discourage the company from repeating the same sh+t.

By Generating Outrage on Forums and elsewhere (people complaining on Twitch Streamer chats, writing bad reviews on steam or metacirit) you generate bad press which in turn turns off potential customers and thus revenue.

There is an opportunity cost for everything. At some point, the cost of running of cheap hardware (simplification) that cause these outages and thus generate bad press and turn current players away is simply higher than the cost of a good server without all these byproducts.

Obviously, if everyone was like you, they would never have to even consider upgrading their services since they would see that people eat up whatever is served to them no matter how bad it is ;)

    No.

While I see and understand your point, gamers complain about literally everything.

ZOS could say "Here's 10,000 crowns for the server trouble" and these same people would find something to complain about.

ZOS could magically fix the server issues, without the AOE changes that have been made, and make the smoothest running MMO experience of all time, and gamers would still complain.

How do I know? Because I have been around MMO's since EverQuest, and it is the same story literally everytime. Doesn't matter if it's ZOS, BethSoft, SOE, Blizzard, NCSoft, or whatever MMO dev in question, the same issues always happen because they are a part of the nature of MMO gaming, and entitled gamers expect pure uninterrupted service 100% of the time and throw the same temper tantrums everytime it doesn't work out that way.

I wonder why you take offense in people complaining, really. What's the damage done by that? You may not like it, in fact I wouldn't do it because it leads to nowhere, but where's the problem? Do you really think that this somehow ... hinders the further development of the game?

As for me, I just don't like to be called "Karen" or "entitled" just because I have a valid issue with how a product is being handled.
