Slimecraw Shoulders and the Golden(missing on console but available on PC)

Looking at the history of the golden it would appear that Slimecraw Shoulders have not been present since June of 2019 is this an oversight?

I know they are available via the undaunted keys but that is really very random.
My wife got Slimecraw Shoulders in medium with her fist 5 keys which is what we want for our builds, myself I have used 55 and no joy, would be nice to think that there is also a chance to get it from the Golden at a weekend as well.

If you used 55 keys you should have bought the coffer that drops only 2 shoulders, one being slimecraw. 11 tries you would have definitely gotten a slimecraw. Good chance of a medium one too.

11 5-key coffers gives an 86.5% chance of getting medium slimecraw.

55 1-key coffers gives a 78.8% chance of getting medium slimecraw.

I'm curious how you came to that conclusion. Per attempt your chance is 8/48 (1/6) (16.7%) to get the shoulders in the weight you want (ignoring trait because xmute). It's doesn't get better the more times you try.

    It's basic probability.

The probability of getting a particular set and weight from a (non-DLC) 1-key coffer is 1/36 (I don't know where you got 1/41). Therefore the probability of not getting it is 35/36. The probability of not getting it twice in a row is then (35/36)*(35/36), which generalizes to (35/36)^n for n coffers. Then, the probability of getting what you actually want is 1 minus the probability of not getting it.

    So, the final calculations are...

    For 55 1-key coffers: p = 1-(35/36)^55 = 0.788
    For 11 5-key coffers: p = 1-(5/6)^11 = 0.865

In my opinion, you're almost always better off buying 1-key coffers for base game shoulders unless you're absolutely certain you'll never need any other sets from that vendor.

Things are a little different for sets from Urgarlag because she has 16 sets (and growing) instead of 12, so you have to replace the 35/36 with 47/48, while the 5/6 for the 5-key coffer stays the same.

This is exactly why I was asking about it not being available on the golden since june 2019, If it was on the golden every few months at least people could get it that way.

It doesnt get better with each try, but if you know the number of attempts you will put in, the probability will improve as that number increases.

Also the guy did the maths.

36 doesn't account for all traits, only weight and set, 41 is with trait. I get that trait has no bearing in this conversation as only medium was the requirement. Thanks for clearing that up.

Though I'm sure your eyes are getting glazed over at all the statistics and probability discussion in your thread, @Norgh ... Adhazabi Aba-Daro the Golden is also RNG-based, unfortunately.

Due to poor RNG, Slimecraw has not made an appearance since June 2019. If you look closer, some monster sets have never made an appearance (e.g. Zaan).

Trait can be solved with transmute crystals. And monster pieces is one of the most worthwhile uses for the Crystal's due to their rng.

Personally, it would drive me crazy to hope for a particular shoulder AND weight AND trait from a 5-key box. When I get the shoulder that I’m hoping for, it’s like a party! I build around whatever weight/trait I get. I’ve had such bad luck in the past and wasted so many keys, I really wish they would add the option to buy the specific shoulder you want for 10 keys, but keep the other options for people who want to chance the RNG
