BattleGrounds Chicken With No Head- for Rapid Maneuvers leveling

^^ read the passive “undaunted mettle”.

OP said they run into the enemy team purposely to die to get the game over with more quickly. That’s throwing a game on purpose. My suggestion is to try and not just feed the other team just because it’s a game mode you personally don’t enjoy. or take up my offer for free wall repair kits.

I have. and i still don't understand what it has to do with CRAFTING.

and before you claim that neither do rapids, no. again its a false equivalence. undaunted mettle is a COMBAT skill. rapids is a MOVEMENT skill. moving from crafting station to crafting stations as well is to quest turn ins faster, allows for better efficiency when running through crafting. AND it works indoors as well as outdoors. those undaunted mettle resources are for combat ONLY.

not only that. there is a heck of a difference between deliberate sabotage of a dungeon, vs being farmed because you are not set up for pvp, but are essentialy cajoled into it to GET BACK THE QOL ability you used to have acess to for YEARS without "ruining" it for other people.

No need to intentionally throw the game by running around feeding the enemy that is winning. Battlegrounds are pretty manageable pre 50 anyway so you won't need to have some super PvP character to make a dent (assuming your crafters aren't all level 50).

how about unintentionally? because sometimes we feed the enemy just by being there and TRYING to contribute. and please do not start with "you should prepare your character for pvp" its CRAFTING MULES.

If you feel that it’s that much of a QoF change take it up with ZoS. Personally I have no issue preparing properly for the kind of content I’m engaging in crafting mule or otherwise. If you queue for BGs at least try. I’m not asking a lot. Don’t feed. Don’t throw the game just because it’s a game mode you don’t personally enjoy.

    sigh.

its not that we don't try. its that we feed WHILE trying.

to use your example of a dungeon run. you queue up. your dps is super low. your gear is under par, you are still leveling some of your skills, you are probably dying to mechanics you are not familiar with. so you are trying but you are not contributing much, however - while you are making it harder on a group by them having to compensate for you, its NOT an active act of sabotage, like your hypothetical false equivalency example.

requiring people to fully prep for content that they never wanted to do in a first place, and don't plan on continue to do is just.. THIS IS NOT A JOB, FOLKS.

and we DID take it up with those. this thread is just one other way of taking it up with ZoS, by demonstrating what their decision to move rapids is leading to. it IS on official forums where they READ THE POSTS, you know.

My post was hyperbole about how self entitled OP sounded as they bragged about feeding the enemy team unapologetically. They were not TRYING. They were FEEDING. What if some player on OP team was trying to get their BG motif but OP was selfishly feeding so their team came in last. Is that fair to the teammates?

At least try to play. Don't really care if you suck, die a lot, ain't got no gear, whatever, but at least have some respect for your fellow team mates try to take objectives or help out in some way. It's not going to hurt you to do so. Deliberately throwing the match is just lame.

Aight since the pve community is gonna throw games in bgs I am going to go fake tank veteran dungeons to get the armor I need for pvp because I do not lik doing dungeons but zos is forcing me to do fungeon so I can get the gear they locked behind a dungeon wall... Not gonna use potions at all nkr any fokd buffs because I do not want to waste resources that I could otherwise use in pvp.... And if you all think I suck for doing this then read the post again because it is basickly whay op is doing... If he does not have to try in bgs just because he does not like them why do I have to try in dungeons.... Anf while we are at it can we have a vote to kick option in bgs so that we can kick inting feeders like op who is ruining the bg match for me and the rest of the team

I mean let's be fair both pvp and pve are doing this already... Fake tank/heals are a thing as are people feeding other teams in bgs either intentional or not. The only real difference is it's harder to tell in bgs if the player is just bad or doing it intentionally. The problem isn't going to be solved by swiping at each other on the forums. Rather we should be united in telling zos that they need to fix the issue. Maneuver can be moved out of pvp as some have suggested in other threads, queues for DF and the pvp issues absolutely need to be addressed. We are stronger as united front trying to get zos to pay attention and listen rather than squabbling amongst ourselves. That said, OP i get what you were going for, but perhaps a less confrontational way of expressing it would have been a better way to go about it. Does grinding for rapids suck for non pvpers? Yes. But some empathy for those that enjoy pvp but despise 90% of gear/skills that are needed for pvp are gated behind pve sucks for them would go a long way. I get it. You hate pvp. No shame there. You shouldn't have to grind content you hate to get a QOL skill. But put the shoe on the other foot and think about pvp players who find pve a boring mess. Maybe if you spoke up for them (not saying you don't, as i don't know you, but the vast majority of the forum tells them to suck it up and grind pve, really just using you as the general and plural here) on things like qol improvements for pvp they'd be more likely to stand up for you when things come down the pipe that screws with pve. This goes both ways - pvp players need to stand with pver's as well for changes that adversely affect them. As someone that loves both aspects of the game it gets a bit tiring seeing us arguing with each other rather than convincing ZOS to do what's best for both. Ok I'll take my soapbox and go now...

The problem with your strategy is that if you are in a vet dungeon, then the "gear you want" is likely the monster helm, and you need to actually succeed at the dungeon to get it.

Why does every crafting mule need rapids...?
Mine... sit in a single zone to do writs daily as effeciently as possible. They don't need rapids for that. Wild Hunt ring etc are on a single char for farming because... I can only farm on one at a time anyway?

Either way you're gonna level up way quicker zerg surfing.

Need is of course a strong word, but you can do them faster with rapids. At any given time, half of my toons have been "parked" for writs. What does that mean? Skills reset, only spent in crafting, attributes in stamina for better sprinting, and rapid is the only skill on their bar. Is it needed? of course not, but sure does make it faster.

I find it frustrating because all my stamina DPS toons and my tank already went through the excercise to get vigor. Most of my Mag DPS toons probably have it as well at this point, but would need to check (my Mag Warden and Mag Necro almost certainly dont). I have at least 5-7 other toons that are now going to have to jump into cyro for a QOL skill that has been easily accessible since beta. I wont sit here and say it's some monumental task. I can get Vigor (or rapids next patch) in a couple hours. I know how to PVP on every class. It is, however, ANNOYING AF!!!

EDIT: The interesting thing is with a little RNG, I could probably farm a another Hunt Ring about as fast as rapids. My second ring took a little over 2 hours if memory serves.

    P.S.

BG deathmatch: first 1 min, if my team is third I feed the rne
Don't take this the wrong way, but have you tried any of it before you decided you didn't like it?

Look, I get it. ESO is my first MMO ever, and I'm here because I like the Elder Scrolls series. I never really liked playing multiplayer games, and especially not playing against other people. My version of a good day is one where I can just run around questing and RPing myself, and not have to run into anyone. PvP is something that I don't need in my life at all.

And yet, there's stuff gated behind PvP: The Warhorn ultimate. The nice dyes from the Alliance ranks. All of the Cyro skyshards and quests. The Battlegrounds outfit styles. (Oh, and the rapids skill that I only ever used in Cyrodiil, but nowhere else)

So during MYM, I went for it. Was I good? No. Not at all. But I stuck to low pop campaigns or tried to show up to forts that my alliance was taking (several times I got the AP from a capture since I managed to ride in range of the fort just before it fell. I took no damage, I did no damage, but I still got the credit.) Sometimes I even ended up in a group to go farm more AP.

Besides, you can even get AP from doing the PvE quests in Cyrodiil. I spent most of my MYM to hammer out all of the Cyrodiil PvE quests. If you go to a low-pop campaign, then it's really easy to do the quests without getting bothered. You may even be able to campaign hop if you take some of the lesser-used ones, so you can find one where your alliance already controls the map.

And it doesn't take long to do. I went from Support/Assault rank 0 to 10 during the event. Yes, that was with the 2x buff, but even cutting that in half leaves me at rank 8. Getting to rank 5 takes 100k AP, which can be done without much trouble over a few days.

Yeah, there are times that it's not fun, like when you're getting ganked at a quest objective and you have to run all the way back. But it's not always like that. I even found that I enjoyed the battlegrounds a bit - not that I'd do them all the time, but it wasn't like going to the dentist (I only played the land grab and capture quests, not deathmatch). I even managed a few kills, even though I'm kitted out as a PvE tank with the associated low DPS. And I'm still really proud of the fact that I managed to get the Best Defense achievement from landing three killing blows while carrying the chaosball - I thought that was physically impossible.

So I get it, it's not fun to do something you don't want to do. But sometimes you can have a bit of fun trying something else. I know I wasn't planning on doing dungeons or even joining a guild, but I did and I'm liking that a new part of the game has opened up to me. And yeah, it's 100% all because I want to unlock certain cosmetic things to go back and solo RP.

I suggest trying it. And if you don't like it, just unlock what you want and then never look at it again. I know I'm not touching PvP until the next MYM since it's still not my favorite way to play, but I'm now finding out that there's a Reachmen-looking costume coming to the IC for merits, so I have another character I'm sending in to get a merit a day so I can have enough by that time. Same strategy though - find a low pop campaign, go at off hours, and do my PvE stuff while I can without being bothered by others.

    Great Reply.

In BG I was actually doing good for ChaosBall and Domination Since I was super fast and actually played to win and enjoyed myself.

But everything Changed when I came to Cyrodiil Trying to Regen groups and repair walls....

I Joined a group and lucky all my characters have max Ridding speed already and I was able to see what cyrodiil was all about.

Really had a blast and started to really enjoy PvP. I even got killed by Fengrush 5 times and Rezed him too!

Got killed by my First Emperor too... 20 times...

I still had all skill points into crafting and leaving 6 random skills that I was leveling and random CP allocation.

On most characters I was just light attacking but on some of them I actually got lucky and had useful skills ;)

Best part was when our two groups converged onto the Elder Scroll Carrier for support, A Sureal Experience with my minimal UI + Plushenko Reshade at 3440p x 1440p

I am just happy I leveled all the skills of my of my crafters with BiS Race for Each Vocation following Alcast's guide so I am ready to jump into PvP and one day get my Emperor Title :D

The one thing I am looking forward to is Finding all the 18 Cyrodiil Treasure maps without the addon

I also though the performance is really bad but I leveled all 18 characters to 5 and had 0 kicks 0 desyncs but I did have some loading screens pop randomly that I did not enjoy.

I really started to enjoy PvP and am looking forward to doing more for the alliance next time I jump into it actually prepared...

    PS
Bring Soul Gems in Cyrodiil "sorry for people I could not rez if my character did not have any"
Don't use other people's Siege Equipment

LMFAO at the "Ive been here 6 years and can't spare an afternoon to get A/S to 5"... What, exactly, have you been doing for 6 years then? Endlessly crafting? I've been here since beta too ( off and on a couple times but still)...

I've repeated this so many times it's getting rediculous. You can join any zone zerg and get A/S to 5~6 for the current Vigor, Caltrops, Warhorn in an afternoon. At MOST if you go super slow and casual it might take 2 days, AT MOST.

We all understand not everyone enjoys PvP, of course of course. But, if you want something in this game, you go work for it. There's some really great dyes that come from clearing DLC Vet dungeons. Is that necessarily fun all the time with how bad group finder pugs are? No lol. It might take many days or even weeks to get through both Vets of a DLC.

Some outfit styles, good gear, or whatever take hours, days, or weeks of mind numbing grind... is that necessarily fun? I sure don't think so, but we do it anyway because we want the 'thing'. It's called work and reward.

It's called reward lol. If you PvE at any level above questing, you would have needed Vigor at some point in six years lol. Vet healers are expected to have Warhorn and Purge.

I've gotten 6 characters to Alliance/Support level 10 from 0 in the past couple months (and several others from 0 to 5~7), and don't consider myself much of a PvP fan.

It takes an afternoon to two days max. We can afford that for something we want. I've had monster helms take longer to get lol.
Longtimer since beta, the usual. 26 CP toons. ~1700cp on main account, 1000cp on 2nd account. Endgame-ish lol. Most Vets / some HM's cleared.

Every alt I ever made - dolmen to lvl 10, then writ certificates, guilds and into Cyro for rapids. It's a horrible game to play at lvl2 riding speed.

It doesn't take that long to get to lvl 5, but this is just a stupid change.
