Still, a thread well worth re-proposing, as the need is still well there.

As for those afraid that it will reduce the other PvP population, I personally do not think so. People will at the beginning flood to it due to novelty effect, but lack of rewards and the need to be in an organized group/guild for that to happen will eventually reduce it to just an interesting alternative, if not a niche activity.

I am all for it.

This idea isnt even exclusively mine, more so something that friends have joked about over the years that I decided to flesh out in a post.

I genuinely think it is one of the best additions to PVP that could be added at this point in the game. From an outside perspective, it seems like very little development resources would need to be spent to make this a fully functional addition to the next DLC.

From a business standpoint, zenimax stands to gain plenty from pvp players finally having an incentive to spend money on housing. Even subscriptions would likely increase too, because of the increased furnishing limit eso+ offers.

I don't think it would harm cyrodiil/IC pvp at all, in fact I think there is one major benefit for cyrodiil that would be indirectly caused by this. There are no rewards for participating in this sort of pvp - it is just like dueling, and would only interest people who cared about pvp combat. The only people it would actually draw away from cyrodiil pvp are organized groups looking to fight other organized groups (or "ball" groups), which is something zenimax has flagged as a cause of lag. I am almost certain that this change could help us see intermittent performance improvements in cyrodiil just because of large groups having a superior venue for their "GVG" action.

A boon to housing efforts where suddenly 11 million potential players can become arena combat designers creating mini map world's within the framework of eso for combat and competition.

An incubator of sorts, Game devs can tap into this resource for fresh ideas, support contests, and promote players who have crafted truly unique experiences. Remarkable potential.
