You cannot possibly place blame on a game for your router rebooting or your pc completely freezing. There are internet and hardware issues here.

If we were talking about a game not ESO, you would have a point. ESO actually does crash this hard, with the servers failing so badly that it causes our home routers to reboot.

I have never seen my router reboot once because of ESO...
Yeah, this would be really weird if it was happening. TESO has no connection to what your router does, it just moves data through it.
If you are having this issue, then my guess is that you do not have a gaming router. Gaming routers are made specifically to support heavy loads and constant loads from gaming, and have RAM in them(to queue data). If you do not have a gaming router, it can easily overheat or crash due to constantly being used with heavy loads(gaming). **Before I got a gaming router, my router used to break down about every year, at first it would randomly often crash the connection, after which weeks later it just stopped working completely.**

Just wanted to post this advice, since it might help those with connection or router issues.

Eh.... I don't have a "gaming router" or a "gaming machine". I don't have any of this stuff happening personally. Game works just fine for me - though of course I don't do pvp or pve endgame stuff, so yeah.... no stress on my 6 year old + rig....

I play on HughesNet satellite. It's the only option (other than dialup - or wildblue satellite which would be the "option" I got rid of in favor of HughesNet just over a year ago) - and yeah, it's a really good thing I don't find pvp or pve endgame fun.

When you have none of that, ESO will cause something random to crash and need to be restarted. Have faith. ESO will find a way to crash something. Personally, I am surprised that it has not taken out the satellite and caused it to re-enter the atmosphere abnormally.

Same here. I have not even heard of ESo causing someone's router to reboot until now. My suspicion is something else was the cause as the rebooting of the router caused ESO to crash. Granted, crazier things happen in the world.

Yes, if they are related at all, it is probably the router caused ESO to crash. There is nothing that an application can do to accidentally crash properly functioning external networking hardware.

Edit: If ESO did manage to crash the router, then it is time for a new router. If the causality can be proven, take note of the old router's brand and never buy that brand again.

I am having more and more of these, never had them in the past; while playing eso your pc completely freezes - happens only in cyrodiil - cant even alt f4 anymore, nothing reacts - only manual power off works...? ? ? I dont think I had crashes that block my whole pc happen in any other game as far as I remember...wth

That sounds like a faulty hdd or your GPU/CPU getting too hot. As for router, no game and I mean NO game can cause an external price if separate hardware to reboot. Your router may have a trojan that's tied to your pc. Bit farms use it a lot. May want to look in to scanning your pc and running a scan on router via the admin page for router. I have had this before but with gw2.

It absolutely is possible for the ZOS servers to lock up hard enough to lock up a players home router. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. I don't know what a gaming router is, but I have a Mikrotik CRS125-24G-1S-RM. It's a cloud router switch for commercial use. It's a managed switch/router that most posting on this forum wouldn't even know how to set up. My router has a heads up display that can show me exactly what is happening on every port in real time even.
