Hi all, so ive been having my own thought on how to change Thrassian stranglers, since i believe in the concepts of build diversity ang mechanisms that promote skillfull play.
Critique is always welcome.
So i proposed that Stranglers stacks wont degrade over time. Instead have them partially removed when the player takes damage. Either depending on amount or percentage of total hp or by a fixed number.
Do CAP total power to be above a standard monster helmets damage, so that mean level of performance stays at reasonable level. Do remove need for killing blow: it promote unhealthy teamplay.
Allow (weakened) damageshields to hinder degrading (no real dmg no decline) or not.
Such a item would incentivice learning skillfull play, decentivise impulses for myopic dummy humping play (i need to look good on logs. been there, died alot).
Such an item most certainly would not be mostly used in a raid, as that would be the worst environment due to Aoe (however adds are plenty in some scenarios allowing recharge).
There might be problems with my basic idea, but we need to find a viable alternative i think. The opportunity for items that incentivices proper gameplay is valuable.
Thats my two cents on this
There might be drawbacks to such a design
