Are toon speed and RNG increased for some players?

After two years of playing I can't help but notice that certain accounts have consistent awesome luck and their toons move at faster speeds without any speed buffs. I play for an unhealthy 6 to 14 hours per day, lol, so I've had ample time to really observe the topics mentioned in my post. It has led me to believe that some accounts are better than others. I'm sure I'll be told it's all in my head, but if that were the case I wouldn't be asking if anyone else has noticed or experienced the same. I have to utilize farming gear such as coward`s and fiord`s to keep up with some players, and they aren't wearing or using anything to increase their movement speed. This seems to apply to all toons on these "lucky" accounts. Just out of curiosity does anyone else notice this?

How do you know this to be true? Are you actually asking each person that moves faster than you?

There are various forms of Major Expedition as well as Swift Jewelry and being an Orc...

My Orc in medium armour can outrun most people and many mounts, Don't think there is anyway to tell reliably what race or armour weight a player has.

Just an observation from playing with friends, or my spouse whose toons all move about 10% faster than mine no matter the race or class. Our screens are about a foot away from each other so I'm fully aware of all details regarding armor, race, class, mundus stone, ect. When I say no speed buffs, I can assure you that I mean exactly that. Unfortunately I have no way of proving this on a chat forum. It's a bit more obvious when you can see your screen as well as the screen of the person you're playing with. I can't see other people's screens but I do trust that my friends are honest and don't believe they have any interest in lying to me about not using anything that would increase their speed and luck. I didn't just randomly come up with this, it has just been my personal experience over the past two years lol. Even with proof there is nothing I can do to change this, I'm just curious to see if others have experienced the same. It helps if you play with someone and can actively see that they aren't utilizing any speed buffs whatsoever. As for luck, I know it's supposedly 100% random, but I can't help but notice some people have terrible luck and other people have crazy good luck. I have medium luck if that's an acceptable term lol. I'm not jealous or complaining, just been curious for a lonngggg time. Seemed like a good time to ask others as we wait for this reboot that was over an hour an 3 minutes ago XD

Well my RNG has always sucked, so someone has to be getting all the good luck I missed out on all these years. Good luck to them!

Regarding speed, you have race, mundus, armor passives, armor sets and buffs to affect this. There's some "hardcap" I know, but most people don't build for speed, so someone who has like one single of these effects, will stick out.

Regarding luck, I started a discussion about that like yesterday and it's ongoing.

There is a new ring one can attain from the antiquities.

Called Ring of the Wild Hunt that increases movement speed by 45%.

I play with peeps who get everything.... they get whatever it is they are seeking without having to grind, and others who spend weeks grinding for certain drops and get nothing. This is a very consistent observation, again, one that I cannot prove on a forum but see on a daily basis. I don't doubt that your RNG sucks. Hopefully it will improve for you because it sucks to constantly get screwed over. My luck was horrible for the first 15 months, then increased to medium`ish. Far from the awesome luck that some have, but thankfully not terrible anymore. There is still hope lol.

Can't remember it's name though sorry.

Got that already but havent used it. The best part about 5 piece sets imo is the last bonus, and I generally choose my sets based on the 5 piece bonus. It's easy to hit the speed cap with farming gear, certain classes, races, mundus stones, traits, ect...but I'm talking about people who legit aren't using anything to increase their speed. Maybe I'm just spacey and slow myself down with distractions lol. Idk, thus the reason I'm curious of other people's experiences XD

You keep making these claims, but it's hard to fathom that you are literally asking every person what sets they are wearing, what traits are on their jewelry, etc... So how do you know that people are "legit not using anything" ???

it will just be passives that you or they are most likely unaware they have active.
Evan each piece of medium armor has a 3% movement speed bonus to sprint. you might be wearing 5 pieces they might have 7 on thats a 6% increase

    major expedition - 30%
    minor - 10%
    fiords - 15%
swift - ~5% (6% with gold but you will just go over cap with 6%)
    wind runner - 2%

and sprinting itself is a 40% boost.

I think from memory I capped out at ~9.1m/s ( stage 4 vamp makes it interesting)

There are places it is very useful when you really don't need the five piece bonus.

During heists (or any timed solo activity), doing crafting writs and running from A to B because you move faster than any mount (then putting other ring back on).

Its also great for soloing world bosses. The extra 15% makes it much easier to kite. You wouldnt think so, but it does.

It does make me laugh to see players using these speed boost sets, mounts etc to go farming and to watch them dashing from node to node while I dawdle along behind collecting every node that they have missed and getting the ones that hadn't yet spawned. And the people that dash to a node to get it before me is even more of a joke as I already have my eye on the next one.

I invite you to read the discussion about probabilities in that thread :

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/534098/on-rng-better-rng-on-certain-characters#latest

It'll answer your question about RNG.

As for speed, race/med armor passives can increase the speed. So, the answer is "sort of".

It does make me laugh to see these kind of posts. Are you trying to put people down for being more effective than you care to be? I can assure you they collect a lot more than you do when you just "dawdle" around and they most likely don't bother to even pick up cheap materials.

Variables count in this game" potions, glyphs'food not to mention the points in cp that gives better chance to find things.
I mean put just a potion, mundus of the steed and cp points on an orc in normal gear you will get left standing.

All my crafters are build for 100% sprint speed. They have 7 pieces medium armor, fjords and cowards gear. They even go slightly above cap. I frequently outrun ppl with untrained mounts.

My main has a thieves setup that features 7 pieces medium armor, 2 golden swift rings and the new wild hunt ring and will likely end up with capped sprint speed and 60% or 70% walk speed.

Currently its very easy to reach the speed cap and for some things it realy has its benefit of having a speed set.

People can farm as they please. I am not putting anyone down. as for being more effective for speed-running, I don't see missing 2 out of 3 nodes as productive regardless of the cost of the material

Don't forget the graphics "lag", meaning if you have an older graphics card, that has to work hard to display the world and if you playing on a too high resolution for your card than you can experience this what you describe. It just feels clunky and slow. When I lowered the graphics setting on a 4k TV, the game ran smoother, my character was running smoother. It is just a thought.

This. Sprint and mount speed caps are the same regardless of class/race/skills. If someone is faster than you and you are both at the cap, it's because YOU are slower at playing.
