I dont get it ZOS. I pay for a game which i cant even play each monday, cause of your "maintenance". How about you are going to do your "maintenance" at night so people can play the game. I mean EU time belt and US is not the same. Why the NA people sleep while server is disabled, and EU people gotta sit and wait?

Bigger quetion according to me is why the game is in such an awful state with all this downtime for maintenance.

Because if it was the other way round, someone from the USA would be making a similar post?

One cannot make everyone happy when time zones are involved.

Lol, they could do it in 2 shifts, one for NA second for EU. What are u talkin about m8?

I do not agree. I think they have the technical ability to do "maintenance" at different times on the EU and NA servers. The whole question is desire ...

About the double cost for manhours needed for the two-shift solution, I guess?

Your regular reminder that this game is advertised and played in a large number of timezones around the world. Regular maintenance is currently 10pm in Hawaii, 8pm New Zealand time, 6pm on the Australian East Coast, 5pm for Japan and Korea, while it's the middle of the night for North and South Americans and morning for Europeans and Africans.

Obviously, the correct solution is to move it to a more suitable time for those of us on the Western side of the Pacific.

They used to, back when the game was still very new.

This is probably the most likely reason, or it's easier to coordinate if it's done simultaneously.

EU players have always been treated by ZOS as second-class players : bad server performance, bad server time, maintenance during official EU holidays, etc. It seems like it's not going to change anytime soon.

They (Those That Reside in Zo$ Towers),
should consider splitting the maintenance time,
for example : one week NU/EU at 08:00am, then EU/NU the week after 08:00am.

I think the ZOS shareholders would agree that it is not our problem at all, rather theirs, and that ZOS cleverly found the most cost effective solution to that for the shareholders - save money by doing the maintenance for both servers at once.

Or they can put their hand just a bit in the fat sack of money they make from store and crown crates and put 3rd shift on one day during maintenance for the rest of the freaking world outside NA.

It's 2020, you should be asking why does the game go down for maintenance at all, outside of exceptional circumstances.

We have a post like this every time there is any maintenance.
Look I hate maintenance as much as you, however it's a necessary evil for the overall "health" of ESO.

In the US it's a lot easier to see peak game time, so it's easier to schedule maintenance so it disturbs as few players as possible. While in the EU peak game time is more gradual and longer. And let's not forget many who work at Zenimax work in the US, meaning it's early morning for them but it's in the middle of the day for us.

It is impossible to schedule maintenance so it doesn't bother anyone. Be glad it happens at all, since it's purpose is to improve & fix things.

For a company that repeatedly claimed that the EU server has higher population it's a strange move to treat it like a stepchild.

Finally a person who see's sense. I work on networks and as standard live networks have scheduled out of hours outages .To work on a network during peak hours is unprofessional and inconsiderate. Zos need to take there paying customers into consideration when doing these updates.

Well, hopefully someone is looking at the myriad of bugs introduced in the new chapter.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.
