Using blood for blood?

How exactly am I supposed to use this in actual content? Healers constantly keep my health up so I cant really take advantage of the morph, and using blood frenzy is not an option. How am I supposed to be using this on a magblade? If I was the only one determining where my health is this may be useful but so far I'm just not seeing the point. I already have high crit so the their isn't much reason to use the other morph.
I figure I must be doing something wrong.
I was already disappointed with the changes being catered to dps only but even the dps options arent feeling to good.

It's not for use it's just for slot so everyone can see there is a full skill line prepared ;D
As You may see there is no logic in changes in ESO, so we should avoid to looking for it :disappointed:

BfB is hands down the best mag dd spamable in the game.

At full health it still does the same damage as other spamables, but its completely free.

You can now ignore mag regen, you can ignore cost decrease, you can wear higher dps gear and use higher dps skills without running out of magicka, ever. Thats what you are missing.

You may not be getting the full damage bonus for being low health, but you really wouldnt want to be at half health in actual content anyway would you?

Blood for blood is incredibly strong, not because of the bonus damage at low health, but because healers will easily be able to keep you topped off while using it, and since it costs 0 magicka, it is a huge boost to your overall sustain, allowing you to forget sustain food/glyphs, which then increases your overall damage.

But it felt like it wasn't doing that much damage, and doing it on the dummy isn't going to give me an accurate count because I'm not being healed. Do you have to have low mag and high health? I'm using it at stage 4.

It deals similar damage as other spammables, no need to change your build. You only need to get a 2k heal from your healer per second and it's essentially free. This allows you to drop your regen or switch from a damage/sustain hybrid set to a pure damage set.

But keep in mind it depends on your class. You might need to use a damage/sustain hybrid food still, for example. Or the hybrid set and pure damage food. You should ask a friend to provide HoTs and test a bit on a dummy. DPS numbers are bugged, but you can still see how fast you killed the dummy and adjust accordingly.
But in general, yes, BvB is a huge sustain relief, it is meta and totally the opposite of what ZOS wanted to achieve with their re-vamp. xD

This skill basically helps to get rid of any sustain issues if there was any. You can drop any sustain skills/sets and optimise for damage. Raid only, wouldn't recommend in 4 man content.

Slot it, play exactly as you normally play, and watch your DPS go up and sustain get better. There is no downside that I can see if you are able to be a melee DPS.

If you cant go melee, run swallow soul and consider the vamp toggle for burst phases. Also really powerful. Or as a night blade, ignore vamp completely and run thrassian, if your group will let you. If any class can run Thrassian most of the time, it's NB. They were the biggest victors of the patch from a DPS perspective.

What do you mean how am i supposed to use it? Just the fact that your sustain is much better alone is enough of a justification to use this skill.

Personally i like using my class spammable, but yea, it's good.

The only thing I actually find annoying about it and the reason I use swallow soul instead ( not including the fact that swallow soul generates ult and heals you) is that it's a melee range ability which is annoying to use. If it had a ranged morph I would maybe use it though I think if you wanna add simmering frenzy into your rotation you could get higher dmg and using swallow soul.

I like some of the things to do with the vampire rework but it’s feels like a half done skill line they either need to reduce the negatives or add more positives I mean at stage 4 no health recovery 12% cost increase in non vampire abilities that’s massive don’t know about hardcore pve but pvp I feel it especially in 1vx situations.

There is absolutely zero reason to be a stage 4 vampire in this game now. For any reason. You're gimping yourself with no return. Stay stage 1. Forever.

People only see the negatives in higher stages and neglect the positives. Undeath is even more powerful than it was before. Vamp abilities get cheaper along with normal skills getting more expensive.

For cookie cutter pve dps, yes stage 1 is best. But for pvp, tanking, soloing, who knows.

I just find it comical that all the best magicka dps builds are now vampire, and people still think it needs buffs...

Because people are just gonna use it for the spammable. Which is the equivalent of them using it just for the passives. The goal of the revamp was for people to actually "play as a vampire", but unfortunately playing as a vamp is a hot mess.

Depends on how you play. In my opinion stage 4 is very good for soloing in Cyro/IC.

Yes, cost increase is bad, but know what is worse? Getting tbagged by 20+ potatoes and having to ride back from the respawn point.

And not everyone has easy disengage mechanics like shade + cloak.

Vampire rework does have some nice tricks I been constantly playing with it since graymoor hit console but I also feel like the negatives are to high especially at stage 4 mainly that 12% cost increase and no health recovery. I been meaning to play more at lower stages I’m just a very hungry vampire 😂 feeding animation spot on.

That only applies to a certain point. Whats the benefit of going stage 4? Really just going invisible as long as you can sprint. Outside of pvp, it doesnt really find notable use. And the drawbacks? absolutely no health regen, 12% cost increase, and 20% fire damage..

The cost reduction I would have agreed with you if they didnt change it, now all Vampire abilities cost a significant amount more compared to normal abilities even in higher stages of Vampirism. (Scion is 280 ulti at stage 3, Vampiric Drain is over 3k magicka outside of stage 4 Vampirism..)

All the best mag dps builds add Vampirism because blood for blood is a health cost spammable, making sustain a joke (which is why they recommend stage 1) And while the later stages provide some enticing passives, theres not enough useful abilities in the toolkit to want to take advantage of it

You need to remmember 1 important factor. It is a melee skill, so you have to be in melee range. Magicka classes are not as durable is stamina and being a vamp on melee range is just bad. Try doing Depth of malatar for instant. Some the adds there spammable dawnbreaker like there is no tomorrow. I have seen a lot of 20k HP magicka DD, get deleted by single dawnbreaker or meteor. Being a vamp in melee range will only make things worse, no?

Of course this problem is only limited to certain situations and content, but it still a pain to deal with. I personaly like B2B desigh and playstyle, but if I play as a melee magicka nightblade I would rather use vield blade, it does more and cost less than swallow soul and other magicka spammables.

The "additional bonus per missing health" component of the ability isn't whats relevant. It's the fact that it has HIGHER single target damage than the other traditional spammables but with the cost of 2k health instead of magicka! 2k health is NOTHING to heal back up, especially if you're playing on a nightblade. This ability is SO fun, its the ONLY GOOD THING about this entire chapter!!
