Harrowstorms are still extremely super slow and unrewarding

So you want to do harrowstorms?

well lad, I regret to inform you that these great and mighty storms have a few issues
1: you can be waiting for upwards of an hour at a ritual site and not even see a cloud in the sky, let alone a full on storm
2: there's no way to tell where the storm is currently active, if one is even active at all, so ya might as well be riding around all day and not find a damn thing
3: there's no way to easily reach most of the storms, so even if ya see one in the distance it might as well be dead by the time ya reach it
4: and even if ya overcome all that ya what do you get for yer troubles? a fist full of ash and some random junk

so how can this be fixed? easily!

1:put the storms on a timer and remove the spawn limit..i.e. have it so that in theory all the storms could be up at once
2: make the map marker glow or something when a storm is active there...maybe a bat icon ontop of it?
3: this one can't really be fixed..it's just poor wayshrine placement
4: make the storms drop good stuff.

ya lot agree?

Harrowstorms are extremely annoying to find which one is up. I predict they're completely dead in two months.

@ZOS_GinaBruno what does 'pain point' mean when the simple fact is they are not working at all!

That is called brainstorming for ideas in a meeting. Without a meeting how can you know what your programmers need to change?

Dwarf's Bane has been stuck mid-spawn for hours now on the European server, blocking other Greymoor harrowstorms...

Funny you say that. I have yet to see a harrowstorm in action. I sit and wait for 5-10 minutes, then move on, never to see them again. For me, this has been a very lackluster expansion.

When Dragonhold came out, I really thought they'd learned their lesson from the terrible wayshrine placement in Elsweyr. Boy, was I naive. Greymoor wayshrine placement is really atrocious, especially considering that you pretty much have to follow the windy roads not to get blocked by some of the terrain.

They spawn random instead of in a fixed pattern. This means the same one can spawn several times in a row before others spawn. Last night the zone (PCNA) was working well together to spot a spawned harrowstorm.
Two of them have long ride times. I admit my mounts are all fully leveled so even reaching those two is easy enough. I can see where it might be a problem for new players/characters.
I think the big problem is most players didn't know the first night that spawns were random so they sat at one storm assuming it would soon spawn.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

I'd love some insight as to why @ZOS_Finn and his team (if there is one) thought this design was a good idea. Probably thought it would be good for laughs with the bros at the office.

Someone writing down the actual reasons for wayshrine placing (not some PR stuff designed to sound nice, and not someone from Lore) would be very interesting indeed. Including reasons like "we place some of them as inconveniently as possible because we want players to run around for a lot of time so the game looks populated".

Well that failed, because Greymoor overland is already dead.

You can do 3 for the daily though (a bit like the Summerset geysers) but the time investment/reward ratio is very bad. After doing them all at least once for the Zone guide completion I never did once again unless I happened to stumble on one.

The biggest difference between HS and Geysers is that geysers usually are just a very short ride away from wayshrines. I've had it a lot that a HS was called in zone chat but was already finished by the time I got there, very frustrating.

    100%

Elseweyr and Summerset are busier than greymoor already.

One of the biggest pain points is that travel to and between them is a major pain. No wayshrines near the ones I have seen.

Probably too many of them too if they do 1 at a time as with other similar areas elsewhere in the game.

The Harrowstorm wait is way too long! This wait time alone discourages me from doing any quests related to this thing. It's fine when you happen upon an active one but trying to find one that's going to be active next? No. Big fat no.

Same problems as dragons in Northern Elsweyr (although at least with Harrowstorms you don't need a lot of people) and the very reason I stopped bothering with dragons there. Southern Elsweyr dragon spawns are so much better and really were a fix to what was wrong with dragons in the North so it's surprising that Western Skyrim reverted to the issues that still plague Northern Elsweyr.

I did whatever I had to do to finish the storyline/zone and see what the exepansion brought and didn' t come back with my other characters (except for the skyshards). I' ll wait till the fix it and else I just stay away.

Today I noticed in my guild rosters that people there already aren't playing Greymoor anymore either.
