It's like when Netflix allowed you to rate movies by star. People would give something 5 stars just because they liked it when a 5 star rating would imply classic oscar worthy.
Probably worst chapter so far. 1.No major performance fixes, more bugs than I have ever encountered so far, spanning through all activities, and going unfixed for weeks. Problems with access to the chapter itself. 2. vampire revamp caused most playstyles to cure vamps, people angry with maelstrom changes too. 3. main quest have too many similarities to main quest of previous chapters, big gender disbalance of npc's questgivers, and most quests are either copies from previous zones, or unmemorable. Also, no overall sense of 'Dark heart', when playing trough the chapter. 4. Wayshrines are not conveniently located, hunting harrowstorms is a pain, without good rewards. Even vampiric furniture, is almost the same as alinor one. Also, why devs tease people, saying, they added new furniture paintings, when in reality, we all know, what are the chances to get one (same as vvardenfell ones, that are nearly impossible to find)
Good things are landscape, it is gorgeous, quick fix of antiquity system, also, new models for furniture there. I also found 2 really good quests.
Minimum ratings like 1 are not really helpful... I mean sure, everyone has a right to their opinion, however the chapter is not that awful, it is just you who are very upset on some issue, like the bugs and lag we encountered right after the release.
I gave it a 7 (but I feel like 6.5 is better) because having us revisit Skyrim, Solitude, Blackreach, Dragonbridge, and so on, really kicks the nostalgia, and the zones are beautiful.
The main story is poor, it is too similar with the previous chapter arc in several ways, and the plot twist becomes obvious too early. A similar vampire story, the story quest from Rivenspire is much better than the story quest of Greymoor. ESO had some great stories, I wonder how this got through.
The antiquities system is a great addition to the game for veteran players, because we have a reason to revisit the old content (besides the boring Dragonguard dailies), and it introduces a ton of new rewards. On the bad side, the system is somewhat grindy, but I need to consider that none forced me to rush to max level in a few days. The antiquities system is enjoyable and for casual players can be a great source of gold.
Furnishings got a great update with antiquities, it is now quite worthy to open chests and use treasure maps.
I dislike the amount of bugs and problems that came with this chapter.
Also, it is obvious that the developers do not care about feedback, despite using honeyed PR words to thank us for involvement and our continued interest. One of the most telling reactions came from a lead dev who used an unacceptable tone for a dev to dismiss the concerns of the community (read paying customers) regarding VMA weapons.
Even though I love the setting, I feel that so far, Greymoor is more of a missed opportunity than a success. They really have to come with a very strong DLC as a conclusion to this chapter to make things right.
