Which do you prefer: Two handed or Dual Wield?

2-handed

As others have said, I choose between them based on what fits the character but my personal preference is two-handed. It feels more fun to play, to me, and I like the visuals of the weapons a lot more as well.

Both, along with bow. Mainly 2h for PvP and DW for PvE.

Dual Wield

DW with Bird of prey and rapid strikes on my stam warden. Throw in the occasional rending slash or gripping shards and I’m moving at more than double the speed of my enemy. With Green Lotus up I’m stacking crits like it’s nobody’s business.

It’s the kind of attack where I can always be on the move and on the offensive the entire time. Extremely fast paced just have to watch that sustain.

I prefer 2h. I love to see my little Stamscorc Bosmer do a Wrecking Blow down on a enemy. They say "Cute little Wood elf!" Whhaa??" BOOM! 😁

I dont like how wrecking blow functions, so it is really hard for me to get to excited about 2H. I do think that for PVP, especially solo, it is generally a superior skill line, so I do run it. In PVE, I prefer dual wield from both a lore and functionality standpoint. Did I mention I hate channel/cast times? I did run 2H on my necro for a while, but I didnt use WB as a spammable.

Sneak attack wrecking blow FTW. DW might parse higher, but 2H is just more fun and satisfying overall.

Dual wield just feels faster and more fun. I like both but DW is more fun in my opinion.

For pve I still run DW(higher dps), still use 2H in pvp though.

DW - I like the interrupt that now comes with Shrouded daggers, unexpectedly efficient for large pve-mobs.

Dual weild, no contest. Even in situations when it might be less effective than 2h. I just find 2h skills clanky to use, whereas dw skills are more fluid and fun. Plus, spin-to-win is one of the most satisfying skills to cast, imo

Dual wield my favourite does good damage and I play a nb so it just feels right I use 2 h back bar for rally.
