It was extremely overpriced the last time it was offered in the CS.

It was waay-overpriced, and I have only seen 2 players with it since. Not holding my breath on a fair price this time around either.

I'm still salty over the Infernium Dwemer spider. Was drooling over it for months after it was data-mined, got super excited when they were getting ready to release it...I think I invented some whole new profanities when I saw it was for gems. In fact every new profanity I come up with or hear gets dedicated to that subject, for the foreseeable future. Just rude.

Seems like crowns are soon only a currency for gems. Shame zenimax.

Crown Gem Exclusives need to be Removed ASAP.
This is a blatant money making scheme, and I have no idea how people are falling for it.
It's bad enough having Gamble Crates, but now you're forced to buy gamble crates, to get currency, for something not in the gamble crates.

It was a 300 gem exclusive with no ESO+ deal when it first launched last summer. But even at 200 gems still expensive

I just don't like the feeling of being ripped off... so I'll always pass on this stuff... easy decision no matter how cool it may seem. I don't really run around with pets anyway... especially in tirals.

People are easy to fool. In most respects, it isn't really the victim's fault. Human psychology is relatively easy to exploit if you know how, and companies of all sorts hire people who know how to do exactly that. It's what marketing is. Humans all use heuristics (aka, cognitive shorthands) each and every day to make decisions. For the most part, they work and they don't cause us problems but these mental shortcuts can be taken advantage of by others for their own gain.

I complain a lot about video game monetization because major publishers are consciously taking advantage of customer's psychologies for their own gain in ways that just aren't ethical. Marketing a product in good faith is fine, but what these publishers do goes well outside that boundary. Offering gambling - especially in an unregulated environment - is one of the most obvious examples of going past boundaries of ethical monetization. What really annoys me about this is that it doesn't have to be past those boundaries. It's not even hard to introduce ethics into something like gamble crates. You publish your odds. You don't allow duplicates to be drawn. Or you fully refund duplicates drawn. You have an explicit spending ceiling after which point a customer will have obtained all the items. You design it so the customer's interests are protected before your own.

But they don't do this, and won't do this. Which is why the law needs to step in, and has been doing so. Give it time.
