I seriously doubt people that cries about a few hours of down period on a videogame played online, have had any real work out in the great real life. I mean if this can make you angry and annoyed, then I can't imagine what you would feel like being at work or studying or just in general having a regular family life.

This is a videogame!!! Yes it might be annoying that you can't play, but well you can play now. If you don't feel like it because of small upsets like these, then maybe you should stick with games that don't have this issue (no more mmo games)

If having launch day issues for a dlc is the worst thing that happens to you this week, consider yourself fortunate.

You'll have access, and people that aren't will get it removed. You could be in far worse shape considering where the economy is right now. Then again, you may not be responsible for yourself, and may still be a burden on your parents.

Reason i "cry" about downtime is becuase i spent most of my daytime working. When i come home i prefer to do things i like to do. One of which is gaming. one of the games i've sank most of my time and money into is ESO atm. Sadly i can barely do that because anytime i come home from work its EU primetime, so either the servers are barely playable or you can't play at all.

I work 5 days a week, from tuesdays upto and including saturdays. Monday is my day off, but thats maintenance day every 2 weeks? Mind you i'm european so that is afcours during the day. so thats a garanteed 2-4 hours downtime if everything goes ACCORDING to plan.

and the BIGGEST ISSUE that so many people seem to forget is that this happens EVERY PATCH, almost every maintenance even.

the reason i'm not mad at spending 8 hours at work most days is because i get paid for it. I get paid to spend my time there. However i PAY ZoS to play their game. Afcours they don't have to provide me with the ability to play it but hey, would be nice if they did.

Do yourself a favour, either accept how this works or wait a few days before logging in, that will save you not just time, but alot of annoyance.

As for the complaint about not being able to play, you agreed to the TOS did you not? if you had read it, then you would know this is actually perfectly fine for them to do, infact they could do alot worse than this! You get paid for your job sure, scarps most likely, but lets not make this topic political. Accept things for what they are and do something else until the issues die down abit.

This failure of a launch has nothing to do with is being a Release of an "expansion", even normal maintenance has failed countless of times.

When a problem keeps happening over and over again, do you just continue the same way or try and improve it to avoid it eventually?

I'm so glad you haven't had any issues. However the never ending RIP EU thread kinda proof that there are issues. That thread almost has a better uptime then the ZOS Eu servers.

And I suspect the racial addition is a mostly American thing (note: I'm American). I'm far more familiar with it as the person who thinks they are not just entitled to better service than they are getting (which can be reasonable), but entitled to better service than everyone else or better than they paid for.

I see a lot of the latter with this patch, particularly the folks who pay for ESO+, but seem to think they deserve more benefits than what are listed on the advertisement because they are a "supporter." Maybe that's the case in other games, but no, you aren't actually paying for preferential login access in ESO during the very infrequent times we get temporary login queues.

Yep, that sucks. ZOS pulled a ZOS once again. EVERY major update, most minor, and even some regular non update maintenance have required a second maintenance to fix their issues, for the past few years. The level of failure is so critical it's even become amusing. If they were a House in Game of Thrones, their motto would be "Maintenance is coming".

But "the update is ruined for me because I paid and others got it for free", really ? Well, don't worry, we freeloaders won't have it for long, they will find a way to fix it eventually. And probably communicate about it being a feature, a free preview for everyone to boost the sales and whatnot. When it comes to justifying their actions, they suddenly become good at communication.

But your behaviour ? Damn kid... The update isn't ruined because you feel like the area is bad or ugly, it's not ruined because you feel like vampire is now ruined or whatever, it's ruined because OTHERS have access to the same thing as you for a limited time ? And luckily i'm not one of those people with those kind of issues. However, don't start thinking that because i can pay for my food and the roof above me i'm not enttitled to complain when i receive a service i'm not satified with. I'm not angry at a videogame. And yes, it IS just a game (as Meridia said ), but it is also a product which people have spent real money on. That's a more substantial basis for a complaint.
