What were Dragonknights known for?
Class DOTs? Chains? Being best tank option? Something iconic. What could that be?
That may be highly subjective but... (here is my turn). The only reason I made my Dragonknight (2nd toon) was ability to reflect Meteors. Good reason enough? For me it was worth it. Welp, I had fun till... TG patch. Anyways, my preferencial way of playing was always range. Magica Sorceror, and Magica Nightblade (my main). To be fair I was forced to play range with Magica Nightblade after DB patch since it was just more effecient to play. You can kill pugs with anything, anything really, but if you want to stay alive facing an equal opponent, you need to adapt.
That is the objective part so you know. Most complaints came from Sorcerers even tho the actual victim was the Magica Nightblade. Since Homestead the only reflectable skill from Magica Sorcerer's kit was Crystal Fragment. Crushing Shock was viable spammable and all you had to do was hit a frag at perfect moment. Magica Nightblade on the other hand was somewhat deleted without Concealed Weapons, but due to mobility nerfs (no more DOT/Snares removal on cloak), range option was the way.
Even though I mained Magica Nightblade, I was okay with the way reflect worked. That was a mechanic, that I was accepting to use and face in the Cyrodill. Not at a single point of my playtime I have made a complaint. But there are also players, who doesn't respect the original class design. Why not? Was the skill actually overperforming?
What you should really take a look at, is the fact that Zenimax removed the mechanic that was tied to the class since the very launch. Make it reflect less, reduce duration, increase the cost, apply additional conditions, whatever. Just do not remove the mechanic in favour of straight out value. Is there a reason to slot it? Is there any fun in usage? Does it have a way to suprise the enemy? Does apply high risk/high reward scheme? The answer is No. You do press the skill and bam for 6 seconds you get 50% damage reduction from projectiles. It sounds sooo fuun. Are we degrading ESO to Skyrim where all we have are values and only way to get dynamic gameplay is through the mods?
Would you like to see Reflect mechanic reunited once again with almighty Dragonknight class?
As usual, sorry for potato English.
Less talking, more raiding

Yes, I would like Protective Scales to reflect incoming projectiles again
No, I prefer Protective Scales providing flat values as they are
