think it was an error on the one statue or this is what they all look like?

I found the artist's blog a while ago. In fact, there were THREE artists working on it. One (the blogger) worked on legs, armor and - wings. One on face and torso, the last on the base and flames. The blogger also said the image used in promotion was made by ZOS. This means the statue's coloring in that image wasn't set in stone. And it seems we're getting a different color, closer to a vampire lord's actual skin color.
Honestly, the paint looks terrible. This can't be it.

I don't know that sounds more like damage control after a bad production run with no way to get a refund to me.

The rusted look on the left picture is fine. I hoped for more, but it's fine and what I pre-ordered. The turquoise right version is NOT. It doesn't look like the promo picture at all. I don't think it's the real deal, but if it is, I am returning it.

It genuinely doesn't look like that though. It looks completely unpainted and untarnished, no texture, etc. Just like cheap plastic.

It's a pathetic excuse for not releasing what was shown. I don't care what "lore" excuse they can come up with. There is no excuse for that and if that's what the CE is getting? People should start getting refunds because that's not what was advertised.

You shouldn't pre-order TES6, anyway. Bethesda have more than proven they cannot be trusted anymore.

According to the art director, this is supposed to look like an Antiquity, and is supposed to have a different look from other statues that they have done. It is not intended to look like something that is alive, but something that has been buried in the ground for a while.

Don't shoot me. That is what they said on ESO Live.

That does not look like it was ancient and buried under the ground for ages it looks like it got fresh out of the printer.

I want to see I see a few more pictures. The one that Tuttle was holding on ESO Live was grey with some brown coloring barely visible, but his web cam was not very good. The one at the top of this thread looks white and washed out.

The art director was super happy with it. I can't see an art director getting excited about a final product that looks like something fresh out of the printer. I am guessing that there is more to it than what we are seeing right now.

That thing isn't detailed to look faded. It is completely without detail.

Yup, FO76 "canvas" bags all over again, but A LOT worse.

It doesn't come out much in the photos, but from the unboxing stream there's actually bit of golden paint on it. Not like it helps much. The darker one on the left looks quite nice. Like antigue made of old copper. Even would figgure out the thing around the vampire lord is supposed to be blood without having to be told that. The one been send out ... I don't know, maybe it looks better in person? It's too ligt in color, lacks depth and looks kind of made of plastic imho. Why didn't they went with the other - darker - design? It's not statue of unicorn or something for crying out loud! Vampires call for dark colors, maybe with bit of red mixed into it, not light gray and gold. What happened here? Covid lockdown induced miscommunication between the artists, Bethesda and manufacturer? Rush to get these out on time even if quality goes down? If I was getting one of these I'd be disappointed.
