Transmutation stones as compensation for impen nerf [pvp]

By your logic anytime that a set is no longer BIS we need be compensated? [snip]

Welcome to the wonderful world of MMO's where things change and sometimes you will need to re-grind sets or in this case transmutation crystals.

On thuesday when greymoor comes live the impen trait will be nerfed by around 50%. With a baseline of critresist added for everyone.

Impen will still be the best trait on some builds but on alot of builds it wont be anymore. (For you pve players: imagine divine would get nerfed by 50% and you would have to replace every single big piece with an infused piece to remain around the same damage)
I know almost every player has alot of impen armor laying around. I myself have around 500 impen body pieces. If i would use the end of campain reward to transmute all of them it would take 15000 days/ 500 months / 41,6 years to transmute them with one char.

I dont really feel like waiting for this long until i can use all my pvp gear to its max.

    Here are some suggestion:

    - some free transmutes to change traits on body pieces only
    - every campainreward has a 100% chance to drop a transmute geode (this will lower the nirnhoned market but it did recover from the last time you could basically transmute everything super fast)
    - a warzone NPC that allows you to change traits on 1 body piece per day in exchange for AP

Yes i can already hear all the pve players shouting agrily over a pvp buff. But consider this: pvp was and is in a terrible state since years, ZOS only caters questers and pve players ever since battlegrounds got introduced, if it were you who would need to change almost your entire gear wouldnt you want the same thing?

LMAO, that has literally happened before. There have been metas where infused was better on the body. Still waiting for my "compensation"...

PVP has been 7 impen or GTFO for years. This is a good thing. If you play PVP at any level, you have more transmutes than you know what to do with.

(In reality, I do not oppose a cost reduction in transmutes, skill and attribute re specs for like 24 hours after the patch drops, but much longer and it gets abused)

500 impen body pieces means 500 transmutations meaning 25 000 transmute stones, which means 500 campaign rewards.
500 divided by 8 characters is 62.5 campaign rewards. 62.5 times 30 days is 1875 days. Except that you are opening a reward of the worthy every day as well, which adds a (conservative) average of 4 gems per day.
So we are having a function Y(x) = (50/30)*8X + 4X | with x the number of days and Y(x) being the transmutation stones accumulated on that day.
We get to 25 000 transmute stones after 1443 days not 15000. That's a conservative estimate. We are assuming you only have 8 characters, will never get more than the minimum amount of stones and you will never do anything else that grants you stones and none of the 1443 gear items you get from opening rewards of the worthy are desireable to you.

And that is completely ignoring the fact that you can only wear 7 body pieces at a time and probably don't even need all of those 500 transmuted.
Besides, Impen is still a good trait in Greymoor. You are still running some impen pieces and investing everything into impen will leave you with more overall crit resist than before.

This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

    Huh?

Pre-Greymoor, if you're wearing 7 impen you have 1806 crit resist in no CP. (27.36% crit damage reduction.)

Post-Greymoor, if you're wearing 7 impen you have 2554 crit resist in no CP. (38.69% crit damage reduction.)

The Shadow mundus increases crit damage by 13% and wearing all divines only adds another 6%, for a total of 19% — so someone wearing all impen completely negates just over twice that.

Impen is still going to be the strongest trait for most PVP builds — if anything, there needs to be a net reduction in critical resistance. Giving everyone a free 11.3% crit damage reduction was just dumb IMO.

    This.

You will have more overall crit resistance in 7 impen after the patch. If you want to phase in other traits because their value has increased relatively, then do it as you earn crystals.

Plus, if you are running any crafted gear, you can remake them in the new traits.

And if Sets I use get nerfed, I want to get the better Set for free please.

Imagine they would have nerfed impen before Clockwork, then you couldn't even transmute it, you would need to refarm or craft new. To get free Stones is pointless. This post is about PvP and anyone who play regular PvP knows how fast that stupid geods block your inventory.

How long have you been playing? That's roughly how long it will take to get all that stuff in other traits even without transmuting. I guess, it's way less than 40 years.

Basically, the OPs is claiming that it's going to take him 42 years to replace all the gear he's gotten in this game that has been out for 6 years.

Nerfing impen is long overdue. I bet this puts an end to the so called unkillable players in pvp that people post about in the forums.
After careful consideration (and oh! so much deliberation) we have concluded that you circumstance sounds too much like a l2p issue for it to be just a mere coincidence.

no no, not replace it but to keep it and transmute it. so yah they'll have to go grind for it again which is annoying.. as so they are annoyed and focusing that energy on writing a post about their annoyance.. seems healthy to me...

Don't transmute. Buy the pieces ! Have them crafted ! Farm them !
When your gear is not the best anymore, it's usually the only course of action, and this time is not different in any way.

For once, the game economy might benefit from that nerf.

They made it worse actually. Sure they nerfed impenetrable but now you get a base crit resistance value, which when combined with it equals more critical resistance.
