New Pet!

I am requesting a unique pet that would cost between 2,000 to 3,500 crowns. It could come as either a bat, lizzard, or something comparable that will make sense for its function.

Within the near range of your character, the pet will actively scan and eat bugs and give you fishing bait and possibly other mats you would get when looting bugs.
Each pet would have a unique hunting animation as it swooped in to capture and eat its prey, occasionally.

Thoughts?

If it is released it will probably be a buff regardless if it is slotted, just like the 5 extra space pet. Cute idea though, I think some would really like it.

I really want a crow or raven. Would be nice if it perched on your shoulder too (but that's unlikely)

Yeah, put a Raven or at least one of the black feather court in the crown store or quest exclusive in regards to crows wood as a non-combat pet that will occasionally fetch trash worth a bit of gold like carapaces or high value treasures.

A non-combat pet that increases the number of trash items(only the ones that get gold like carapaces, ectoplasm, etc.) found on corpses and treasures you find in Corpses, pockets and safe-boxes.

My nyxad catches bugs but the darn thing eats them instead of turning them over as bait. Oh well.

But what are your thoughts about a pet that collects fishing bait? That was the main topic of this tread? Is it a good idea or not so good?

If it were bugs only maybe. Thing is players sometimes compete for materials so locking a pet that collects materials for you behind crowns would cause an uproar. Most players ignore bugs though so... maybe.

Actually, I think the nixads just "pop" them. Sort of not even as "normal" as eating them....

Oh I remember a quest in Alik'r where you used a trained lizard, so cute. But after quest ended it disappeared... Why Zenimax? I even paid some gold for it! XD Should be a pet like some others you receive through quests...

Back on thread - well, maybe only bugs and not in a great numbers. Comparable to crafting hirelings.

Non-combat Pets, by and large are not SUPPOSED to have any benefit. We got One that adds 5 to capacity for all characters and there was an avalanche of ' P2W ' complaints.

Non-combat Pets don't get involved in fights, don't draw enemies away and just basically - Don't have any beneficially effect on the game. They are for flavor. They have animations to make them fun to have around.

You want mats? Have your character go get them, just like everyone else.

I like the idea of a pet that helps you farm resources.

But that price is ridiculous, just as most things in the Crown Store are actually ridiculously priced.

As butterflies are known to have wings i'd just be happy if every time you caught a butterfly you got the wings too. It makes sense if a butterfly is fluttering around it must have wings to do it Lol.
( pops out to the garden to check the butterflies out there have wings ).

I love this idea. I suspect it wouldn't be retroactively applied to those who already earned the Master Angler title, so we'd have to redo the achievement. You know, to validate the vMA staff maneuver.

I want Barbas as a pet. I don't know maybe as banker or simply with sandbox script where he will walking around barking at people and speaking something hilarious in that Skyrim voice.

I want pets like this available to me in the game, not the store. This would be a great one to get through fishing.

I guess maybe you could get the pet in game, but you would have to complete all current game rare fish achievements to acquire this pet. Else, crown store.

Because that is what you get when a pet eats something...

Joking aside, yeah, I get the idea. Not really sure its a good one... I mean, usually pets don't really bring useful stuff. Even a trained hunting dog tends not to do more then at best bring a downed bird to you... and might nom it themselves if feeling peckish.

It would make a lot more sense if having a pet active actually -consumed- some bait types as you have to feed it... like, every half hour active, a dog or cat eats one guts, a guar or such one worms, etc. And if it ate all, it automatically unsummons.
