This is literally just to trick new players in wasting their crowns/money on something which you can get for free.

Stop promoting sales for Vampire/Werewolf skill lines for 'x' amount of Crowns when you can get someone in a guild to bit you for free in 5 minutes.

There's a difference between cosmetics which you can only buy through the crownstore, and just straight up deceiving new players. I've met some new players, who have been really upset because they found out they could have saved their crowns, but really wanted to be a ww.

It is not without reason. When you have crown items like the Vamp/WW cure that is both easy and cheap in the game world to obtain but sell it in the crown store hoping unknowing players buy it you make your company look shady to your customers. The few people that do buy the item and find out later they wasted crowns will feel cheated, sometimes leading to them quitting the game, other times sending in a request for a return of the crowns. Neither of those results is a net positive for ZOS.

This is no different then the lack of clarity on the crown store outfit slot being for only one character instead of account wide.

ZOS will ultimately benefit financially by ensuring their customers trust them and trust that when they buy and use crowns they are not taking a risk that ZOS is actually ripping them off.

Xologamer your own quoted response there and skepticism in ZOS doing the right thing is a oft expressed viewpoint on the way ZOS conducts business. This is an example of the damage ZOS has already caused to their reputation in the eyes of their customers. It is never too late to fix the mistakes, start doing the right thing, and building a more positive reputation with the customers of the game.

They aren't really interested in ethical monetization of this game, especially after a couple years now of ramping up on it.

But if they did want to practice ethical monetization design, they wouldn't have to remove these from the cash shop. The grounding premise of ethical monetization is to avoid deceiving your customers about the product and bending over backwards to emphasize to them "no, you really do NOT need this... are you SURE you want to purchase this?" In this particular context, that would involve having very clear warnings that both of these services are very easy to obtain in the game, as well as detailed how-to instructions. Even better, require an extra validation step for the purchase so you can be absolutely sure the customer is making an informed purchasing decision.

The major reason why microtransactions in some games become unethical is when the customer is unable to make informed purchasing decisions. True costs are deliberately obscured from them (gamble crates are a huge offender for this), and at times descriptions of cash shop items are misleading or borderline lies (looking at you, outfit slots). It's not the only reason, but putting checks directly into a game's cash shop is a huge step in the right direction to being pro-consumer. Which is also why we almost never see this, and why it will never happen in this game unless they are required to do so by law. Food manufacturers wouldn't tell us what we are eating from the store if it wasn't required by law either. Scary thought, isn't it?

The Crown Store cure is a pure rip-off. An NPC will cure you for around 600 gold.

I'm okay with them being in the store but I'm disgusted that there's no mention on the store listings of the fact that they can be acquired in game. At least with the motifs, they do say if they're store exclusives, or can be farmed in game.

Just to confirm, you do not need to do the quest. Once you purchase either bite, you automatically are infected with either Lycanthropy or Vampirism. To reiterate what we've always said, Crown Store items are merely for convenience.

Would be nice if there was a notice that both skill lines are available in the game. This isn't a brand new game though, so even with a bare minimum of checking people should be able to find the information. [unlike when the game started, and getting either one was a lot harder]
