Lack of streamer presence?

Hmm so I’m just curious why does it seem this game has a lack of streamer presence when compared to other similar games?

Because a lot of the players who were involved in streaming ESO have moved on due to issues they had with the game and/or finding a bigger market where they could expand if they were working on streaming full time for a living. Some of them play casually or log on every now and then. It's not the same as it used to be.

That makes sense. Years ago I’d occasionally watch a streamer on YouTube. He did mostly pvp builds and had black hair. He was pretty popular but for the life of me I can’t remember his name.

It's hard to continuously stream a game that performs so badly you're unable to actually play it half of the time.

Sounds like SypherPK. Think he mainly does Fortnite streams.

I literally have Kyle open on my laptop while I'm typing this.

Some other ESO streamers that come to mind immediately are @ninja614, Bert Ferkins, @xynode, Jimmy J J Shabadu, @Ninjamonkey0169, @Casual_Ranger (though, he's had his hands full with recent events). @GandTheImpaler, from the Class Rep program streams. @JebroUnity is a fantastic guy, and steams ESO. I haven't caught @Shimmer, @MissBizz, or Tienlein in ESO recently. I think Shimmer and MissBizz have their hands full. Tien's been streaming bunch of stuff. GnarlyNate streams ESO primarily.

There has been a lot of turnover lately in the stream community in the last year or so. People like Tech&Junk don't stream ESO these days, and there are a number of content creators that are waiting for Graymoore.

So, there is a stream community on Twitch.

Probably Sypher. He still streams but not ESO.

That's, mostly the PS4 streamers. A lot of them, including MilkViper and Tech moved over to PC.

As others already said, it was probably SypherPK. He started making a crazy amount of money when he stopped streaming ESO for Fortnite. It's great to see how successful he became. More luck to him.

If you're honestly trying to say that @Ninja614 and @xynode are not both excellent players... "LOL." There are a lot of very skilled players who stream ESO.

I don't know why you'd want to watch anyone play a game. This whole streamer thing (let alone the insanity that people can earn money at it) just baffles me.

You could apply that towards people who watch sports.

Most people enjoy watching competitive PvP of some sort, not a big market for watching carebears running around role-playing. The removal of group queuing pretty much killed any sort of quick competitive PvP this game had. Too bad they won't do what League of Legends does and have Solo/Duo-Q combined with a Full Group-Q options.

It's not really that different from any other kind of performance art. "Why would I watch someone perform music when I could just play it myself?"

Beyond that, Streaming (and LPs) are about finding what you're looking for. Some streamers tend to be very educational. Some are informal and are engaged in a conversations with the audience. Some are genuinely funny. Some are just that damn good at the game. There's PvP, there's PvE, there's housing... seriously, @Ninjamonkey0169 runs a stream where he turns the housing system in ESO into art.

Personally, I tend to put streams on while I do something else and interact with chat as I have a moment to. To be fair, when I'm not coughing up a lung, I also tend to hop in discord with friends, and you can even hear me lighting Gand up in one of Kyle Dempster's AFK reels.

So like I said, it's about finding a streamer and community that syncs up with what you're looking for.

Yeah, not sure about the actual RP community on Twitch. There's a lot like Tea where I'm not sure what people are watching, but, more power to her.

There's quite a few casual, roaming aimlessly around streamers... And a couple who do bizarre, off the wall things. There's a new one popped up recently who streams naked pledges and 2hr long videos of 4 nude tanks taking down dragons, badly and with difficulty but having a jolly good laugh. I mean, OK, it's not great, but it's not bad either.

Same. It's utterly bizarre. The apex of boredom is me watching someone ELSE play games when I could be doing it myself. Seriously.

I like to see how people play the game. Housing is very interesting and BG's too. Some of those guys and girls are really good at play, I can say it is "fascinating" in a certain way 😊

I guess I just don't see "playing a videogame" as something outside the reach of the random person, unlike performing music or playing a sport. Or as something notable or interesting to watch, versus doing it. /shrug

Honestly, I've never understood how or why people would be playing a game and having a TV show/movie/radio playing beside it, either. :D

Just another example of different people are different, I suppose.

It's a degree of proficiency thing. Stands to reason that someone who puts in a 40 hour week playing the game will be more skilled at it than someone who has a couple hours over the weekend. Now, that's not true in every case, but the idea is there.

Who cares? Gaming survived for decades without streamers, it will continue to survive if the day comes that streaming stops. Play the game yourself.

Watching Micheal Jordan dunk is a bit different to watching someone sit on their arse and push buttons on a controller. I can’t dunk like Jordan, but I can push buttons on a controller.

A lot of streamers are also taking breaks from there game here and there. I can name a few, myself included. This goes on a lot with all the changes ZOS makes.
