Vampire Lord Set

Is it just me, or does it seem like the 5-pc bonus of this set actually does more harm than good?

Pro: Decreased cost of (already very cheap) vampire abilities
Cons: Increased fire damage taken + increased regular ability cost

It just doesn't seem right...

I find it interesting they didn't change it in the 6.0.3. patch. It is a very odd set right now.

I feel its similar to the Salvation Set for WW, very niche and for RP-ing.

The individuals responsible for set balance are really dropping the ball for like multiple patches in a row.

The fact that in the vampire expansion that none of the vampire armor sets became any more viable is simply a travesty and testifies to their failed approach toward set balance.

The only good player vampire aspect of this chapter at this point is the Bastion Sanguinaris.

Yep, on that I will agree.
The rest of the Vampire changes are a load of hot-garbage.
It's not like the 10% passive regen made any significant difference, it was just a superior, albeit minor advantage.

If their concern was with too many Pied Piper followers creating a faux-problem that exploded into the unruly mob effect, then all they had to do was simply remove those passives entirely, or make them stage 4 requirements with their new bass-ackwards feeding system.

They could have still created new skills that made more sense, in addition to various morphs that would provide both ranged and melee options, and /won the day.

But no, they didnt, because reasons.

When is everyone going to realize and learn: VAMPIRES ARE IMMORTAL, and immortality will always be preferable to mortality, period, end of story, move along please. #Duh

    But not anymore.
Now we have impotent vampires who basically kill themselves just to have a competitive advantage with the filthy, flea-ridden wolves, while the mortals sit back and /laugh at us because they're superior to both.

Oh but remember, that's just for us lowly "Scions".
The unnamed trailer Vampires (and zone NPC's) get to:
    1. Mist-travel insta-kill mobs
    2. Transform into bats and fly away (fast-travel)
    3. Cast a hoard of abilities that we don't get to learn or do because, reasons

The individuals for both the vampire overhaul/expansion and the set balance. Like holy sweet baby Vivec it's bad. Granted this patch is just a smidge better, but now I'm just tempted to get rid of all of my Vampire Lord stuff because it's just as useless as it was before.

Chapter is advertised for Vampire content, yet werewolves somehow get the better rework after years of being neglected; but hey, now you can cure vampirism in more places and purchase that WW skill-line unlock for money, right? [Snip]

This set definitely should be changed.

I don't see why they don't just make it cut the penalties for being a vamp in half and that's it, no bonuses. Any player would have a to give up a five piece for essentially a defensive set, so it wouldn't be over powered at all. Could even do something like add a small bonus like 100 damage to vampire abilities and it wouldn't be over-tuned.

As it is, it's just another set in the game to ignore.

I say just revert the set to its original state and make 5-piece scale with your stage. Something like 300/350/400/450 Spell Damage to Vampire abilities and 4/6/8/10% reduced Vampire ability costs at Stage 1/2/3/4.

Yes, when I tried the set on PTS, I was surprised that it didn't alleviate the pain of being a vampire.

Sad the way that works, is it would only take 10% of the remain 76% not reduced by stage 4 and only net you another 7.6%. Netting you only 31% cost reduction in total. Way less than the original PTS stage 4 cost reduction. :\
