    Just 2.6k people doesn't seem right, the open beta had a huge amount of players (i think something like 500k in total).

    I know long term players that do not frequent the forum, and I think you have to log into the forum to get the badge.

    There is another variable that you have not taken into account. Even though I played in Beta and have had an ESO account for then I did not join the forums until much later.

    Probably for having different views on game than players who are content with this state of game and direction it moves toward.

    I'm a player since Beta.
    Though I logged in to the forum a few months after the game's release.
    It's only when logging in for the first time(i.e using the invitation) the forum's join date takes effect.

    Well not everyone has a forum account, since eso doesnt tie a forumaccount to your ingame account i guess most of the player just dont care, others create they forum account years after they bought the game

    6 Year badge here.
    The game has approved a lot over the years and sadly also fallen a long way in the past 2, but especially the last 1 year.
    People spent so many years blaming Wroble for things that went wrong. The new combat team showed us, that we were wrong to do so. [snip]
    Perhaps a lot of the people who were here since the start, were simply silenced or left out of frustration

    As far as I understand, you don't need to log in after the time you are scheduled to get the badge to actually get it. You should log in just once before.

    It is possible, of course, that some time of inactivity (a year or more) can prevent you from getting a badge and a forum user should actually log in to get it retroactively.
