The game runs like garbage because of the junk engine they built it on. The only way to truly fix performance is to start over on a new engine. It also looks and feels very dated by this point (granted, so does every other major MMO since they all came out in the first half of this decade, or earlier).

Not only would they have to start from scratch with a new game, but they would never trust the company to not just do it again in a few years anyway. How many people will sink thousands into a game that will just be shelved for a new version and you'll have to do it all over again.
Actually, I stand corrected. EA does this every year with their sports titles and people seem to fall for it.

I wouldn't mind if the game is clearly had a good run and they make it clear the sequel would be 100% better, but if they just dump it out there half assed and worse if it has less features somehow lol then yeah there will be blood.
