No, any leads you find are shared by all chars, so you can find leads while levelling a lowbie alt and dig them up on your main.

Do leads count against your 25 quest cap?

As Perditioner said, leads aren't considered quests, and they don't count against the quest cap. There's a new tab in your journal for all Antiquity-related info, including the codex where you find all the lore snippets you get for collecting the items.

This is from Clockwork City, "Mnemonic Star Sphere". Also animated, the inner starscape and the brass rings counter-rotate.

These are the two from Bal Foyen. "The Dutiful Guar" (metallic, sort of bronze-y), and "Tri-Angled Truth Altar"

OMG I NEED both of these

Oops lol, I did take the picture of the Eastmarch objects, but missed it when posting - my apologies! Here they are. The Northern Elsewyr ones are currently unobtainable, but once they fix whatever bug prevents them from spawning I'll post those too.

Khenarthi's Roost: Apologies to the person who already uploaded the tapestry picture, I wanted to keep all furnishings together for each zone. The tapestry as previously stated is "Sweet Khenarthi's Song", the statue thingy is "Cat's Eye Prism"

Greenshade: left is Greensong Gathering Circle, right is Branch of Falinesti

That's all I have for now, 9 zones left for after lunch

    Tapestry is gorgeous.

There doesn't seem to be any restriction that I can find. They are unbound and can definitely be traded (I checked) so even if you don't want to hunt multiples, you will be able to buy them from other people. You will need to hunt them down one at a time though, since you can't hold multiples of the same lead in your journal at one time, so you have to find the furnishing before you can get your next lead for the same one. You get a different snippet of lore about the item each time you collect it as well!

Yep! You have to find the separate pieces in different zones and put them together :) I won't spoil any more than that, but it is lovely :D and it's definitely nice to see one as a reward for playing the game

A non-Crown music box in indeed awesome! I'm very excited for quite a few of these.

Though I'm already dreading having to grind repetitive brain-dead mobile games for furniture.
    Especially several times.

The best part of housing in my opinion is that it's a chill creative gameplay with an endless possibility of new projects and visions that we can play around with. But now, housing fans will be forced to grind through hours of this new 'Antiquities' minigames that ZOS are pushing so hard on every type of player (from PvErs, to crafters/gatherers - that movement ring omg - to housing enthusiasts). I wish housing fans could earn housing rewards from... housing, instead of yet another unrelated grind.

Yes, that game is called Skyrim. ;) It looks very similar to the Snow Elf shrines in the Forgotten Vale.

Bottom does. The top is different.

    latest?cb=20120806203410

That top is seen elsewhere in Falmer architecture.

In one of the best selling games currently still being played by a lot of people nearly 10 years after release. So many TES fans will regard it as iconic.

Which would be why the person you responded to hoped that it's a work in progress. Though ZO has a history of questionable creativity when it comes to architecture.

Wait, what’s this about grinding repetitive mobile games to get antiquities? I’m trying not to get too many spoilers, but this sounds like something that is not completely within the new expansion on whatever platform - PC, Mac, XBox, or PS4.

Is it just your choice of words comparing the exercise to something like Candy Crush games or do you have to buy that other mobile Elder Scrolls game that I briefly heard something about?

You don't have to buy anything else (aside from the Greymoor chapter, of course). People are comparing the aesthetics and gameplay to mobile games.

I haven't yet been able to test with a copied character to see how "grindy" it is, but to be honest, as someone who does a lot of farming and treasure chest hunting, I found while collecting just the furnishings that it slots in well beside those activities. Before you can find any objects, you have to first find the lead for it. The leads can be found during normal gameplay, from killing mobs and bosses, looting chests and backpacks, or even stealing from lockboxes. So I think that rather than being a brainless grind, it's more like that you can find them during the course of normal alt-levelling and questing in a zone, then bash out a couple of leads while you're doing crafting surveys, for instance, in one particular zone. In my case, I was using a template character with all the possible leads available to me, so yes that was a grind that took me two days, but even so, it was an active activity, rather than a brainlessly passive activity like fishing (which I hate in this game). No one will be able to do that on live, because no one will have all the leads instantly available.

With regards to the minigames - yes, they are visually similar to mobile app games, but they are very quick to complete a "round", so it doesn't feel like a grind. The scrying takes me about 20 seconds, the excavating just under a minute, and you have to travel between sites, so it doesn't -feel- excessively onerous. It feels more like doing crafting surveys than anything else - you can either do them when you immediately get them, or save up a bunch in a zone and do them all at once if you like. It just has minigames associated with it, so it's a bit more active on your part. To be honest, I've been asking for something like this to be associated with fishing to make it a bit less boring, so after I figured out what to do I've been really enjoying it. People will make up their own minds ofc, but for myself, I think it's a nice addition and it breaks up a farming routine into something a bit more varied :)

Yes that's the shrine, ZOS just moved the top Auri-El symbol to the middle and made it glow forever. Well at least it doesn't look identical to the one in Skyrim, well done.

I was unable to locate the furnishings of Northern Elsweyr, there are no Dig Sites and no markers from the Eye.
Are these Antiquity furnishings bind on pickup or tradeable?
Music box "Aldmeri Symphonia" is bind on pickup (it is collected in three parts). Everything else is tradable for now.
It plays 'Blood and Glory' on PTS.

The Three Storm Sharks, episode 8 released on january the 8th.
One mer to rule them all,
    one mer to find them,

Since you can "farm" for multiple of the same furnishings (provided you find the lead again), does anyone know if the lead source stays the same and does the location for the item stay the same.

If I understand correctly, the dig site won't appear without the lead, like surveys and treasure maps but if the location for a specific item is unique to that item, could you skip the scrying step and just go to the dig site.

And can you "stumble" across a dig location without scrying?

It is hard to tell anything about sources of leads for now. I got leads mostly from psijic portals and thieves troves. I think that leads to parts of "Aldmeri Symphonia" music box are from thieves troves (I got one from thieves trove and two from the template character), because in the patch notes it is said that music box requires Thieves Guild DLC.

Zones of leads seem to be the same (you farm lead to the furnishing in the same location where you will scry this lead), but with RNG it is hard to tell for certain.

You can't dig before scrying. You don't need to use the Eye tool after scrying and before digging.

    Edit: typos.

This was in the latest patch notes, which implies they were intended to be all bind on pickup and not tradeable. I assume they would work like achivement items where you can have multiple of the same type, but you cannot trade them.

Many of the Antiquity furnishings do not currently bind to you as intended when acquired.
