Vampire Appearance

Can't wait to see what they are doing with the base vampire appearance and the look of the blood scion. All we've seen is pre-PTS stuff that didn't look very good and now with the PTS patching, and the long wait for the PTS server to come online underway, I wonder what they'll look like. Hopefully they have a female version of the blood scion and changed their mind when deciding it was a good idea to make us drenched in blood 100% of the time after feeding.

Also anyone else notice the patch notes did not include the current values for the buffs/debuffs included with the vampire stages?

I'm really hoping they changed the appearance because that was one of my biggest issues with being a vampire.

100% they won't and cannot do the Vampire Lord justice.

It is impossible for them to do it, simply because of the fact that we're playing an MMO where balance is required.

Welcome Tamriel to the majestic, all-mighty and powerful Vampire Lord, who is now just an ordinary mob-monster, forever faded from its legendary and powerful status.

I am very curious how much the appearances change, if it all. On the Pre-PTS the Vampire Lord but not called Vampire Lord looked different which is cool, but obviously lacked polish. I hope such polish is seen in the official PTS

From what I understand, scion =/= vampire lord, to explain for the lackluster power in comparison. Scion is something different/new(?) for ESO.

They mentioned they changed the appearances but gave no screenshots or descriptions. And RogueShark is right that the Scion and Lord are separate ShadowHvo, but if you're referring to the NPCs that transform I can slightly agree there. The main villain is probably a true vampire lord in comparison to the weak little NPCs we burn through though.

Blood Scion is a ripoff of the Vampire Lord and we all know it. It is basically the same thing with a little extra demonic flavored twist to separate the two.

But the statement stays to either side, be it players or mobs.

There are different strains of vampirism. This is just another strain of it, similar but different.

    Of course there is.

Doesn't change the fact that it is a blatant and shameless ripoff, an excuse instead of giving Noxiphilic Sanguivoria something wholesome and unique, befitting Lamae Bal herself.

Now Lamae Bal, who utterly hates Molag Bal - has been given the very gift that allowed Harkon and his Molag Bal worshipping Family, to transform into the physical representation of MOLAG BAL.

Why Lamae would ever offer this to anyone is beyond me, but here we go.

Imagine if they instead would've made Noxiphilic Sanguivoria into something more unique, cool and interesting that allowed for intense blood magic, perhaps a form that better befit that - an actual BLOOD SCION.

I'll keep dreaming while we continue to get this thoughtless addition.

I was one of the people hoping they'd do something a little different with it, and I agree with many of your points, but ZOS seems to be dead set on this. One of the biggest complaints I had when it was originally showcased was just how much it didn't fit with Lamae appearance wise. You'd think her children would polymorph into something that matches her instead of the Prince they love to hate.

    I won't, I'm happy with Stage 4 as is.

But yeah, enjoy your legendary, mythical and all-mighty form that has just lost all of its power and grandeur status, a pathetic and weak shell of its former self.

I'm sure that people who loved the vampire lord in TES: Skyrim will love the Blood Scion in ESO :* /s

Well those Falmer are not Blood Scions nor Vampire Lords, they are Blood Knights which I gather are the result of experimentation, the Blood Scion is like a "Lesser" Vampire Lord, it looks similar but it pales in comparison to what Harkon, the LDB and this expansions villain can transform into.

The fact we lack wings is proof enough that the form is a different creature.

    100% agreed.

I'm just really bumped that they didn't do her, or their own lore any justice in this regard. Instead they opted for the cheap solution that would provide the most fan-service.

I truly wish they would've been more creative and make something more unique, but here we're.

    can 100% agree

I too wanted something more unique and creative, but instead we got a cheap re-skin of the bone goliath, now even more so a re-skin since they didn't even bother to give us even lesser wings.

A couple of my friends took a picture of the vampire scion and they changed it up a bit. Blue effects are now red and the eyes are no longer glowing.

Also they added a female version!!! Still ugly but that's to be expected
