Vampire Changes

Correct me if I'm wrong but there is now no benefit/bonus to being a vampire for magicka classes. Also, Whats the Positive side of being a vampire now? Before at least you got a buff to magicka/Stamina recovery It just reads like it's all negative now.

    The positive is cool powers.

    The negatives is social ineptitude.

I believe the changes are overall good, despite the inconsistency with how feeding functions. - I just hope they will revert the increased ability cost for class, world and weapon abilities. That one negative will completely destroy any build diversity in the long run.

Vampirism isn't a class, its a state of being - they're rogues, mages, warriors, scholars and much more, their bloodlust doesn't hinder their ability to swing a weapon or cast a spell.

I still hope that they will change that particular negative into Reduced Healing Received from Non-Vampire Abilities. That is a far more fitting penalty.

I believe that the intention they wanted was for you to be a vampire if you wanted to play a vampire character, they shot the sustain down since that was a notable reason why people took it. This new vampire is akin to WW where there is no inherent obligation to get it (like there is on live) and you become a vampire to play a vampire

Pretty much. Only be a vampire if you wanna build a vampire and primarily use its skills as your primary abilities. because the cost increase of all over non abilities is going to hurt. They didnt specify in the patch notes but i saw during the press showcase that its something like 20% increase to non vamp abilities at stage 4. Ouch! Not worth it.

I think it was like vamp abilities at stage 4 get 50% cost reduction. so if you are primarily using vamp abilities and only class abilities for buffs and a few utility stuff that the 50% cost reduction to vamp abilities and 20% increase to all other abilities balances out a bit. But to use vampire just for the passive buffs at stage 4 will drastically hurt any class with massive sustain issues.

I just don't think with these changes they understand what you stated here.

You may very well be right, but I just don't think I'm going to like the change

I was on the fence about the vampire rework but now, I'm of the mind that since they removed the mag/stam regen passive, its going to encourage people actually play and use the vampire abilities instead of just using it for the passive perk. Interested to see the new skills integrated with other skills. Almost like it's become a class 0f it's own. Still got a miss the bat swarm ulti though.

They don't, you're right. That is why I'll post plentiful of feedback on the PTS in the hopes that they take notice.

That one particular penalty is completely against the actual fantasy of a Vampire in TES. It needs to be changed to something far more fitting and thematically appropriate.

I know, but you have to be in form to use it. And they don't heal you anymore. Was always a nice oh crap heal when you aggro a few too many mobs.

Also the form itself now heals you to full when you use it so the added bat effect is rather silly. How much you wanna bet the new bat swarm deals less damage and is less reliable than the current one on live?

It is now a class, but not a very good one.

The game gets worse with each patch.
