Sorc pets in banks

lol *since they did not add that option back yet.

Do your writs at the guildhall, so much faster and banking too.

For the guild store Craglorn is great !! You can just walk behind the counter and be done with it....Easy peasy lemon squeezy :)

*without adding more bugs to the game

How exactly are you turning your writs in at the guild hall? Enlighten me.

I complete my writs at my guildhall very quickly and then I hand them in silly :)

Never had an issue with pets ever or handing my writs in.

This whole thread is an exaggeration with another agenda.

If players are top crafters, then they certainly know the eazy peasy spots to hand them in. That is all.

    ‘enlightenment’

So you pick up writs in a city, port to a guild house, do your writs, port back to a city and hand them in? That doesn't feel a little bit inconvenient with 2 extra loading screens added to the process?

Console players can go into the character menu to the description screen, I think... I'm not in the game to look. But all they have to do is scroll down to the description of the pet being active and dismiss it. Very easy to do. Also, if the pet is only on one of your bars it will disappear if you switch to the other bar.

For what it’s worth my own bear gets in my way all the damn time. So if you see me hopping around a backpack, chest, node or bank that’s why.

I don’t have any of the cosmetic pets active though. Trying to help out where I can because I’m already inconvenienceing the hell out of everyone with my bear already. I also try to steer it out of the way when possible to not block everyone else.

Serious question. Then why don't you dismiss it? While I'm not perfect at it I dismiss my Sorc pets any time I arrive at a town wayshrine or before I enter the gates. While the other players also benefit from it I can't stand flappy things in my line of vision when I'm not in combat.

Maybe I’m a noob but I can’t find anywhere on any of the menu’s to dismiss it. I’m on console by the way so no add ons for me that I see mentioned here in the thread.

Where have they buried this in the menus? Can someone help me out?

Yes, it is really fast with pretty much every set there. It is very convenient for my guild and myself. :)

Though you’re not interested in any reasonable opinion, showing that pets are not a major inconvenience.

Others, such as @idk, have already explained how it really is not the major issue you make it out to be.

It certainly does not warrant ZOS putting more resources on this, over the performance of the game in it’s current state.

Your previous comments on sorcs show a different picture.

Such as this Quote from you “Players should learn to fight without their pets in that 0.0001% of the game. If someone honestly can't win an overland fight without their flappy flap or bear, they could do the slightest amount of research and put force pulse and hardened ward on their bar.”

Many people gave you sincere alternatives but you refused all advice.[snip]

If you're doing daily writs, then having all the different sets in the guild house doesn't matter. You're only adding 2 extra loading screens and extra time. However, if you're doing master writs as your post here seems to suggest, then I totally agree with you that having a stocked guild house is a huge asset.

You are also right that I have an agenda I'm pushing. I won't deny that. I don't think I'm lazy though. I'm not sure where that comes from. I still stand by my opinion that any player should be able to win any fight without pets if it's a fight they could have won with them if they need to, but that's drifting a bit off topic here.

The main point was that pets in banks can be a nuisance and while that is definitely subjective, there are plenty of players that are extremely annoyed by it. Enough that ZOS may want to make some change in the future even if it's not as drastic as what I would personally prefer.

It's easy but not obvious :) Pull up the Character screen- it's the one where you can see your stats (max mag/stam, spell and weapon crit) and set your title. If you scroll down from the title selection you can see all of your active effects (minor Slayer, your mundus, any XP scrolls, etc). Your combat pet(s) will be listed too, and you can remove them with uh... I think it's the X button? I can't remember. The menu will tell you how.

Re. The other poster asking about why the poster doesn't dismiss their pets in towns... I think s/he was referring to overland content... Backpacks and nodes out in the wild. My damn bear gets in the way sometimes when I'm doing my surveys, for example. I've been working on making a habit of dismissing in those cases too, because the bear also gets in the way of other players doing the same survey.

It's a pain though, especially when the nodes are near groups of enemies. I'm stuck running away from them lest they interrupt my bear summoning.

This is a long dead horse that still requires beating. Couldn’t they make friendly combat pets work the same way as friendly players? I can access an NPC with 100 players around it. Two big ugly ass birds and a weird bear, and I’m SoL.

I can understand that with total newbies - they are proud to have a clanfear around and young wardens might be proud of finally having a bear. If they are really young, it might be enough to whisper to them and explain that they better dismiss their pet in towns and how this can be done. Some just don't realize that their pet is causing issues for others. Of course some just don't care or are even intentionally trying to block something - not much can be done about that and arguing is pointless.

Players doing daily writs on a regular basis aren't the problem. If you're doing frequent/lots of writs, likely using Dolgubon Lazy Writ addon, which has a handy built in feature to dismiss pets soon as you use a craft bench.

I've no doubt ppl are seeing sorc pets + warden bear (worse for actual blocking imo), but frequent crafters using Lazy Writ aren't your problem.

That said, would have no issue if Zos used the function Lazy Writ has and auto dismiss pets on talking to city banker or using craft stations (but NOT dismiss when using banker assistant)

Should make them criminal acts, don't think walking into a bank with a wild animal should be legal nor should the summoning of Daedric entities.

I completely agree with this! The guards and citizens wouldn’t turn a blind eye to someone walking though town with summoned daedra!

And to the OPs point, many times I have walked into a bank and immediately seen 4 flappy birds, and I’ve turned around and noped myself right back out. Not gonna deal with that crap.

key word there is 'summoned' considering that the twilight is listed as being sent by azura, I very much doubt people will throw a fit if azura, lady of dusk and dawn considers you important enough to send a twilight to your side.

by the reasoning that daerdric summoned is against the law, a hell of a lot of the mage's guild would now be criminals. especially vanus galerion with his flame atronaut.

agree - and if you follow that chain of logic, then what about our cosmetic pets? chickens and puppies are ok, but what about all the daedra type cosmetic pets? Ban hammer them too?

Why stop there with the justice system? Certain Mounts, armor motifs/costumes, skins, momentos - hell even certain emotes, and other classes and their abilities should rake up a hefty fine as well.

There is nothing illegal about summoning daedra in Tamriel. Except in a few areas. It's a common practice for mages.

I play on the PC so can't give you the key strokes to get to the panel but as others have stated it is handled on the Character screen under Active Effects. To me it's a little convoluted for such a simple operation and I don't know why ZOS just doesn't buckle down and give us a pet bar like every other game does.
